Jack Move

Awesome and well-made indie turn-based RPG with great pixel art and soundtrack. The story is not long and doesn't overstay it's welcome, gameplay is fun, characters are fun to talk to and every npc has unique dialogue every time you finish a mission. Overall, nice short experience with every achievent being pretty straight-forward and you can get them all just by playing the game normally so it's also easy to recommend to any completionist.

If your into future punk and books... you might like this? *Its clear there is a lot of love put into this. For that reason, it might be worth investing in the creators endeavor for their potential future. Its important to support independent projects like this. Everything after this point is going to be PURELY negitive.* This game is basically a book with how much dialogue there is. Conversations go on WAY to long for me to care. I ended up skipping most the dialogue because of how little I cared. Thank goodness there was an objective tab in the character menu! I would NOT have gotten as far as I did without it. With how much dialogue there is, I am SHOCKED there are NPCs I can talk to! Not something I would want to do, but shocking with how much content there is. For the most part, everything seems a bit bland and uninteresting story wise. Might have skipped over some important bits but from what I gleaned, the writers made the mistake of telling instead of showing. The main character is intolerable. Of all main characters in video games, she is one of the most stale white bread out there. She never really reacts with much emotion. Her motivations are state…

My only complaint is that there's not more. If they made this go from a 5-10 hr experience to a 40hr experience i think more of the turn-based strategy elements would have been flushed out more. The scope is very limited, but the game is of a limited length, it wouldn't make sense to flush these features out when you wouldn't get much time to tinker and use them. For what you get, the game is good, for it's length it makes mechanics that are engaging, but feel like they're so close to perfection, frustratingly so. I hope there will be a second, and much much longer, Jack Move game in which a larger variety of abilities and customization options become available.

Pretty decent light JRPG overall. Enjoyed the setting and irreverent tone. The battle system and exploration is straightforward but rewarding. I liked the combat revolving around swapping different abilities mid-battle, but it only really made the most of what was on offer in a handful of latter boss fights. The character customisation was basic, but effective at giving you a few options for approaching combat. Definitely worth a look if you like JRPGs and retro aesthetics.

nice, short game

Its okayish, gets rapidly repeatitive, with same songs playing over and over. Its all easy, clear and smooth until the last boss. Its not clear how many layers of her buffs she has. Sometimes you have to dissipate it multiple times, as she gets more without the game telling you. Also the game might crash during the fight and may last around 10min. (takes 6hours to finish)
