Ignore the other review; this is a purely all-girl affair, and any feminine phallus (which shouldn't be a big deal in the first place) only shows up in the last chapter, courtesy magic potions. That said, Weekend Romance is what you think it is—all lust, no love, consisting of a purely sexual affair. The best part is, of course, the art; whoever handled it definitely deserves to work on better game. The rest is... something, I suppose, mainly held back by the lackluster writing and eroticism that can't seem to settle on genuinely hot or not (what's with all the sniffing options... ?). It's also exhausting in the way modern pornography tends to be, purely consisting of largely uncreative action, lacking in peaks and lows, without much of a narrative framework. Directors like Andrew Blake can get away with a loose plot delicately balancing over the course of two hours because he is a master of erotic mood, sublime aesthetic, and glacial pace. This has none of those qualities, and is worse for it. I do have to give credit, though, to the usage of its magical setting, particularly the enchanted, spellcraft sex toys. THAT is clever, or at least it is to me. Not exactly bad[…62 found this helpful
If you are looking for F-F action, this is not the place. It was advertised as such but pretty much nothing. It is a sausage fest. Not my cup of tea. But if you like the sausages then look into it. I am mostly disappointed for the false advertisement.30 found this helpful
"Weekend Romance" had its ups and downs, but I liked the artwork a lot, and the pretty images helped offset some of the game's drawbacks. (6/10) Indeed, the game’s well worth a playthrough, but the artwork is going to be the main draw that keeps you interested throughout the fairly short story. The writing reads much like a subpar translation, but that’s not to say it’s terrible. Still, since the artwork is going to be what keeps you reading, I’ll add that the images are gorgeous but fairly tame and dry. The lovers will be cleaned from one image to the next and most of the implied sticky aftermath is quickly hidden which is common in these sorts of games. As for what you can expect to see; most of the content is futanari on female but with a few scenes featuring female on female. The futanari, in this case, have a member instead of a vagina, and not both, which suits me just fine, but I felt it couldn’t hurt to mention. Finally, since the writing wasn’t all that great, I can’t rate the game all that high, but at the same time, it’s not bad enough to justify a negative review. (6/10)11 found this helpful
Not yuri, don't be fooled7 found this helpful
This is one of the rare times I just had to tap out of a VN game. I don’t go in expecting high art by any means, especially with these kind of games, but even still, this was very disappointing. All the characters talk about is how much they like sex, so much so that i constantly had trouble telling the two main characters apart, not helped by the fact that they could pass for sisters they look so similar. The dialogue reads like a porn parody without the self awareness. The characters have no depth beyond a seemingly insatiable need to have sex. There is little breathing room between scenes too. They just have sex, move to a different location, talk about how good the sex was, and then have more sex. There is no “romance” in Weekend Romance. Just a series of poorly written sex scenes with decent art that is prone to anatomical errors. I don’t want to come across as mean, but I do hope the team can take these criticisms into consideration in case they decide to make another game6 found this helpful
JUST HENTAI, NO PLOT
Weekend Romance is a yuri Visual Novel overflowing with hentai content. Plot? What plot? This game is unapologetically focused on sex, and it doesn’t pretend otherwise. While the visuals are decent, the writing is so poor that it completely kills any engagement with the story - or what little of it exists. I have no idea who this game was made for. The yuri fanbase typically steers clear of futa content, hentai fans have access to far better animations, and visual novel enthusiasts won’t even give this a second glance. I don’t even remember buying this game, but I genuinely regret it. Do yourself a favor and skip it. Story There’s not much of a story here - just four women in a fantasy setting, with the narrative being little more than an endless string of explicit scenes. The writing mirrors the content: overly sexual and shallow. I’m not opposed to hentai, but if you’re going to present a story, at least make the plot engaging and the dialogue worth reading. WARNING: The second part of the game includes unavoidable scenes featuring futa (magical, but still futa). If this content is not to your liking, it’s best to avoid playing.
