Weekend in Waimanalo

The art is pretty, the premise is unique and suppose to be interesting. But! The conversation is so bad! Everything feel so forced and I bet AI is involved here. I get that that some term need explaining, but shoving those wikipedia explanation to the reader as part of the conversation is just too much. You should try to write conversation normal people do. Big issues as well with the consistency of the events. One time you got a suggestion that you shouldn't go to the bar, and decided not to go. But then your character just went to the bar without any explanation. When you expect something ♥♥♥♥♥♥ would happen then, another unexpected event turned up. A really messy writing. Addition, characters sprite stay static. No change in expression even though the conversation starts to get sour. It's so weird seeing the character all smiley through a talk that went bad.

Bizarre and terrible writing, 18+ patch graphics are not from the same source and are really poor quality, doesn't work on Steam Deck.

Surprisingly good VN blows like a fresh breeze refreshing my mind in the break time between big titles. Exquisite art style with relaxing chitchat, amazing realistic background knowledge of real places( e.g London) brings nostalgia memories I had in there. Hilarious script makes me have a good laugh after a while in a video game. The only downside is: I can’t obtain the adult patch as a DLC on Steam due to my silly region restriction which resulting me missing some content in the game. I have to stop my progress and wait for an alternate way to get access to the patch for enjoying the game fully. If Ume Softworks could provide it outside of Steam for downloading, the game is just perfect to finish, to list a solution. Anyways, I will give devs some time, hopefully it will be done not before long. Other than this, great VN!

I got this half-off and it still feels like I paid too much. The characters are surprisingly detailed in terms of [i]back[/i]-story, but the [i]actual[/i] story of the VN is simplistic, the personal interactions seem extremely unlikely and abrupt, and the game ends rather suddenly in "and they all lived happily ever after" style—I suspect right around the point where they figured there was just enough content that the reader would be past the end of the 2-hour refund window. There's more than one ending, three I think it was, but it's brutally obvious how to get each one, e.g. be overtly thirsty with This Girl or That Girl on a single date, or rebuff them. Once I got one ending, I easily had the other two within 10 minutes of re-running with skipping seen text. Given the use of AI to create the backgrounds and characters (which admittedly look ... decent, I guess ... but don't move, emote, or speak, and probably came from stolen training data), I think this is basically shovelware that cost the dev next to nothing and shouldn't be rewarded with any more purchases. This game commits the greatest crime a dating sim can commit: It made me interested.. and then failed miserably. The opening actually had me hooked. The premise is fun, the cast seems like it has potential, and I was looking forward to seeing how my choices would shape the weekend. Then I picked a girl. Cue immediate fade to black and a "happily ever after" ending. ...What? It genuinely feels like the game ends right when it's supposed to begin. Instead of actually getting to spend time with the person you chose, the story skips over the entire relationship. It's like buying a ticket to a movie only for the projector to shut off after the opening credits. The choice system doesn't help either. I chose Gina because I wanted to see where that route would go. Instead, I somehow spent most of the game getting railroaded into Florence's route and never even got my date with Gina. At that point I wasn't making decisions so much as politely pretending I was. It's also a shame because I think there was a much more interesting story hiding in the premise. I found myself wishing the game would alternate between Zoe and Rachel during each of their separate stays at the hotel, letting …

It's not inherently a bad Visual Novel Yuri, but honestly there are better ones out there. For the quality of the dialogues, specially at the beggining of the game... It gets a bit tough to go through, but eventually you might really enjoy some of the characters, I personally really enjoyed romancing the surfer girl! As such I will recommend it, tho if you can snatch it on a discount much better, as the amount of time it took me to fully complete it was quite short (2 hours). (Also I left a review for the free 18+ DLC, not worth it, do not add it to your game, the art doesn't match at all, and the smut isn't even that good or ads anything to the game)
