✦ AI summary

Intown Nightmares is praised for its unique atmosphere, engaging anthology structure spanning multiple time periods, and effective use of PS1-style retro graphics that enhance the horror experience without relying on cheap jump scares. However, players note the game can be confusing and deliberately cryptic in its storytelling, with a surreal, almost nonsensical narrative that may frustrate those seeking clarity, though some appreciate this deliberate madness as part of its charm. The game is generally seen as a worthwhile short experience at 3-4 hours for fans of atmospheric, experimental ind

INTRO As a note I received this game for free as a review copy, regardless of this my review will be fully honest as I firmly believe games can grow and become better with honest reviews instead of reviews that downplay issues with the game or suck up to the developer of said game. Intown Nightmares is a indie horror anthology game developed by 0-Game Studios. A one man Russian studio and their second game ever made. Intown Nightmares takes place in the town of Intown where we learn in chapter 0 that something that went wrong at a research facility has led to a string of strange events through multiple years. Chapter 0 has us following a woman left in a forest cabin to pick mushrooms along side a pig. Chapter 1 has us falling victim to a hazard spill at an apartment building that leads to an ever growing mold. Chapter 2 feels very Silent Hill and Alan Wake like with the character being on a "show" and must come to terms with what he has done. There is a total of 5 chapters some with multiple endings, multiple options that can land you different achievements and more. At the price of $7.49 on steam we'll dive into the game and see if it's a game you should snag with some pocket ch…

It is an anthology of seven PSX-style horror tales in the vein of The Trash Horror Collection. The common thread is that they share the same origin and are set in the same city. Personally, I enjoyed it, I’m a fan of this style of indie game, and I found the stories, which clearly draw inspiration from Silent Hill and Paratopic. to be good. Some of the chapters even feature multiple endings and choices, a welcome touch.

Dude, this is just the ramblings of a madman. Every five minutes, go ahead and ask the same question: “What the hell is going on here?” and feel free to answer, “Yeah, I don't know.” The game isn’t perfect, but there are no stupid screamers here... and just an incredible atmosphere mixed with creepy situations embellished with lines like “It’s just a dream. It’s just a nightmare.” I don’t know if the developer is on psychotropic drugs or the opposite (sedatives) but this is the most unique game I’ve played in a while. Haha in any confusing situation just go to sleep like this Maria lol

solid ps1 style horror anthology. jumping through different decades to watch this sci-fi town go insane across 7 stories is a super cool concept. the retro graphics make it way creepier than modern games. takes like 3-4 hours so it doesn't overstay its welcome. perfect late night playthrough if you dig the old school vibes.
