About Bad Omens: 8th Apartment

You play as a student named Lisa, who has just moved in with her university friend. But instead of a carefree student life, Lisa faces events full of despair and fear when she is left alone in her apartment number 8.

8th Apartment is the first game in the Bad Omens series. This game is for people who like domestic horror. There are no endless corridors and searching for keys in the corners of locations. In this game you live your ordinary life, but you encounter unexplained, at first glance, phenomena. You have to figure out if something supernatural is happening in this place or is it all just a series of random coincidences?

Your actions affect how the story ends. Will you be able to find the most favorable outcome for the protagonist?

Recommendations

We recommend putting on headphones and turning off the lights for the best experience.

Bought Bad Omens: 8th Apartment purely because of the name — I mean, I’m a fan of Bad Omens, so I had no choice. No regrets… I guess? The game is super short, you can 100% it in about 30 minutes, and the achievements are ridiculously easy. Definitely something for achievement hunters. Other than that, it’s basically just a simple click-and-run with not much going on — but hey, at least the name delivered

Short horror game with a few endings. Not so scary which is good for me. There is a small chasing part but it wasn't bad.

5/10 Story is okay, very basic. Definitely a quick play. The graphics and details look good, I enjoyed how everything looked. Game is very dark in certain areas. The crosshair is invisible until you hoover over a item you can interact with, which gets a little frustrating trying to turn lights on. I got stuck on trying to heat the pizza, as I couldn't interact with microwave after putting the pizza inside. I would recommend getting this one on sale.

Overall gameplay 5/10 Sound effect was good. Visual was good as well. Just that the story is very short. It's not a bad game. Just too short and abrupt.

I wanted to like it. But getting stuck in the same place over and over again because a hint to "run" pops up on screen before I'm even able to do so ruins it for me (you can see the exact scene I'm referring to in the trailer). If I try when it says so nothing happens, if I move before the Event I don't trigger it at all, but if I wait a few seconds into the Event and try to use other visual/sonic cues it's already too late. I feel like maybe if I could use a controller I might be able to get the timing right, but that's not supported and I can't be bothered to go through the process to map keyboard controls to a controller with external software. Which leaves me feeling like it's an (albeit entirely unintentional) Accessibility issue.
