100 Hidden Capybaras

I really wanted to like this game because I was looking for a "find the hidden animal" game with an animal other than the ubiquitous cats. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game and I am asking for a refund. Some of the main points leading me to downvote this game are: * The capybaras are not "hidden", they are scattered across a detail lacking background drawing. * You are not allowed to click on any capybara you see. Instead, you are forced to find the one being prompted on the top corner of the screen. The developer imposes an arbitrary order in which the capybaras have to be found and removes all freedom from the player. Clicking on any capybara other than the prompted one will yield no game progress. This mechanic is annoying, frustrating and counter intuitive. * There is a single "audio" toggle, but no separate "music" toggle. The only way to stop the music is to also mute the sound effects. * The quality of the graphics is sub standard for this day and age. Zooming into the drawings immediately reveals incredibly pixelated capybaras, in some cases making them unrecognizable due to lack of detail. * Menus are poor and there is no visible way to reset the progress. A cute hidden picture game that takes time to complete. I didn't even mind that I was finding the same 100 pictures over many puzzles. They are hand drawn. It is relaxing. If I had one complaint, it would be that some of the hidden pictures that need to be found, there is only a small slice of the picture that you can see. If you could go to the next picture and then come back to the ones that are mostly not there, it would make it nicer to be able to figure out what one has a tiny bit showing.

Let me preface this by saying that I love these types of games, so I was really excited to play this one. I especially liked the different twist of having to find specific capybaras in a certain order rather than simply finding them all at once. That being said, I did find the gameplay frustrating at times. Moving around the screen felt incredibly slow, which made searching more tedious than enjoyable. There were also several capybaras hidden behind objects where their distinguishing details weren’t actually visible, so I sometimes had to click on them and essentially guess whether they were the correct one. I really wanted to enjoy this game because the concept is cute and exactly the type of game I normally love, but unfortunately, I personally struggled to get through it. With smoother navigation and a little more visibility for the hidden capybaras, I think it could be a much more enjoyable experience.

A more appropriate title for this would be "100 Scattered Capybaras". All are in plain sight, but the developer wants you to find them in a certain order. Which would be fine, except you cannot zoom in enough to see details per capybara in the actual game. This makes it not fun at all and instead becomes tedious.

Scrolling is a struggle. Differentiating is a chore. Not a lot of fun to be had with this one.

100 Hidden Capybaras is a “find the animal” game with a clever twist. Instead of simply clicking on every capybara you see, the game prompts you to find a specific one, adding extra challenge and extending gameplay. With 10 levels and 11 achievements, it offers a fresh take on a familiar genre. If you enjoy hidden object games and want something that requires a bit more focus and effort, this one is definitely worth trying.
