WET is a puzzle game developed and published by SUPER HYPER MEGA that transforms a simple environmental concept into a thoughtful and surprisingly relaxing experience. Built around terrain manipulation and water physics, the game avoids traditional puzzle formulas in favor of something quieter and more methodical. Rather than challenging players with fast reaction times or overwhelming complexity, WET focuses on observation, experimentation, and gradual mastery through environmental interaction. The central gameplay loop revolves around controlling landscapes to direct water toward designated objectives. Players shape terrain by raising and lowering the environment, influencing how water behaves as it moves across each stage. At first glance, the mechanics appear straightforward, but the challenge gradually expands as puzzles become increasingly layered and require more careful planning. Small adjustments can dramatically change outcomes, turning every level into an exercise in patience and creative thinking. One of the strongest aspects of WET is how naturally it introduces complexity. The game avoids overwhelming players early by presenting mechanics gradually. New ideas build …1 found this helpful
The water physics concept is great, it feels like building sand castle again. There are several flaws however, which end up being frustrating and made me stop playing the game. All of them are related to the actual execution of the player strategies: - the camera doesn't let you go in top-view (you can only see at an angle), which makes it really hard to accurately draw walls between things, I always end up being off of my target and hitting the pollution balls. - we should have a height indicator grid, that can be switched on/off. Like a terrain grid with colour-coding that tells you how high things are to each other. - no underwater view as well, so when it's covered in water, you have no clue how deep it is under the water. This is needed to optimize the score. As of today, I can't recommend this game, but I wish it improves so that it becomes a good game, it's not far from being there.1 found this helpful
I'm giving the game a thumbs up because it has a good premise and the first level was fun, but something is wrong with the controls. With an Xinput controller, the right stick moves the cursor forward and back and the LT/RT move left and right, though the legend says they should raise and lower land. But then on mouse and keyboard, lowering land is supposed to be shift + LMB, but it turns out that's only for the LEFT shift key. So if you're left-handed, get ready to move the keyboard a foot to the right. In short, there's currently no way to get a decent control scheme. TL;DR: Neat game but needs QOL refinement unless you're a right-handed player who likes mouse-and-keyboard. (Which is probably most people reading this, I guess.)
Fun little chill game! It takes a min to figure out exactly what is happening, but it feels exactly like playing with the sand and water at the beach
A fairly simple puzzle game at its core. You freely manipulate terrain with the mouse to move water onto stones in order to progress through each level. Levels have multiple stones. I finished just shy of half the levels in about twenty minutes, so this is definitely a short game at its core. There is calming piano music in the background. An extra element "pollution" was introduced, but I never actually noticed if or what it does. The gameplay can be summarized as "draw a circle around the stone to raise the water level up." Each puzzle can take maybe under a minute. There is a score given to you based on how little you needed to manipulate the terrain to incentivize trying a puzzle multiple times. For the developer: * It would help to have the clouds become transparent when the camera needs to look through them. Maybe this was a design choice for added difficulty, but it was more of an annoyance that I had to adjust my camera. * The UI elements didn't come into view cleanly. They sort of popped when they first appeared rather than came immediately into full size rather than scaled cleanly. * Adding WASD movement for the camera would be a big help. For the tough part: if this …
