About Kats Trigger

✦ AI summary

Kats Trigger is a hyper-speed noir action game where you slash, shoot, and grapple through swarms of enemies with wire-assisted three-dimensional mobility and devastating weapon variety. Inspired by classic 1980s-2020s media, it rewards both flashy combat and surgical stealth takedowns against human foes and colossal mechanical bosses alike.

"Kats Trigger" is a game inspired by masterpieces of games, films, manga, and anime from the 1980s to the 2020s, created with deep respect and admiration for the great creators behind them.Experience hyper-speed noir action that pushes the limits of intensity, while enjoying a quietly unfolding story delicately woven within.

■ Slash, shoot, stab, and wipe them out. If no one survives, it’s an assassination.

Cut down swarms of enemies with your blade, and deliver holy bullets to cowards who snipe from afar.Evade attacks with quick dashes or deflect them with your sword to counterattack.Combat rewards flexible thinking and unconventional actions. Above all, it should feel satisfying.

■ Grappling with a wire is one of the core mechanics of the game.

Pin it into walls to move rapidly, use it on specific objects to maximize mobility,or fire it at enemies to restrain and disable them.Dominate your enemies with free, three-dimensional movement in all directions and enjoy the overwhelming sense of speed.

■ Flashy combat is not the only answer. Sometimes, one clean slash is enough.

Avoid enemy sightlines, slip behind them, and take them down in a single strike.Attacks from behind instantly kill weaker foes, and even larger enemies cannot avoid severe damage.

■ Enjoy combat with a wide variety of weapons.

You may find special ammunition placed around the battlefield.Shotgun rounds that dominate at close range, missiles specialized in destroying machines, flamethrowers that burn wide areas—use different types of ammo to gain the upper hand in combat.

■ Enemies are not limited to humans.

Massive demolition machines that smash through buildings, fighter jets that rule the skies, and crop harvesters modified for unknown purposes. These colossal, living weapons appear as bosses, completely changing the scale of battle.

14 hours, reached the end of the early access portion on the hardest difficulty. + Story is one of the best I've seen in any video game in recent memory. + Many indie games feel a bit clunky, or have slightly janky animations. This one does not. Gameplay feels butter smooth. Only complaint is that due to audio cues, I could tell the game was still running after the death screen covered everything up. + Boss fights are all amazing. +- There's a few anti-woke virtue signals in there to keep the crazies at bay. Got a bit cringe, but I get why they're there. Later in the story didn't notice any. - Gameplay got just a bit repetitive towards the end. But I could push through it. Boss fights made it worth it. - No music yet.

Kats trigger is a half fast paced action, half visual novel style game about family, revenge and morality. This game was in my steam family and the gameplay in the trailer is why i installed. So initially I played this game for free. The gameplay is very fun, great movement tech and enough deflects to satisfy my sekiro-like parry addiction. However why i WILL be buying this game to personally own it and support the developer is because of how good the writing is. I am constantly surprised at how emotional it is, and how emotional it gets me, a person who cannot relate to this kind of story at all. To add: the pixel art, animations, illustrations and even the lighting are all MASTERFUL. The dialogue is wonderful as well, sometimes cringey in a delightful way, witty, and wonderful to read. Truth be told, I really didn't believe it would be anything special, and i am very happy i was wrong. At some point, i actually started going even FASTER in the action segments just to return to the slice of life parts. The only, and i mean ONLY bad things about this game is how the camera jitters when zooming in and out during cutscenes, the lack of music (which is understandable the dev wa…

Definitely a pleasant surprise. Mechanically it's like Mark of the Ninja meets Under Party. Story wise it's more like Higehiro meets Dexter. A tale of the all-consuming nature of vengeance, but also of the potential for those others might deem "broken" to help each other heal. I for one can't wait to see more misadventures between this serial k- uhh vigilante, and his stray cat...
