This is a precision-based platformer where you take control of a nimble cat navigating intricate platforming challenges to reach the opposite side of each room. The cat’s core movements include smooth left–right mobility and a jump capable of chaining into wall-jumps on any vertical surface. The defining feature, however, is the dash ability. This lets the cat propel itself farther and rebound off certain obstacles. When you trigger a dash, time slows down, allowing for more precise aiming, and you can direct the dash in any direction. There’s also the option to cancel mid-dash and remain in slow motion indefinitely. You can dash only once before needing to refresh it, either by landing on solid ground, grabbing a floating fish, bouncing from a launch pad, or defeating an enemy. Enemies in the game are shadowy creatures. Most are not particularly dangerous, since a well-aimed dash will destroy them instantly. Many simply float or drift around the room, though some are invincible and will chase you, forcing you to keep moving. These pursuers vanish when you transition to a new screen. Others can shoot projectiles, which you can cleverly reflect back using a dash. The dash’s bounc…

A game that tries to be Celeste, Sanabi and Katana ZERO, but fails at everything. I struggle to pinpoint anything good within this game. Physics? Way too inconsistent (for some reason you get momentum when dashing off of spikes, but don't when just dashing). Level design? Difficulty ramps up way too fast + some setups are too close for comfort. Music? There is only one track. Visuals? This one is better, but it is still to noisy and hard to read sometimes. Story? There is no story. At all. This game could have been good if it was polished more, A lot more. P.S. If you want to get all collectibles, you'll have to get through chapters from the ending using backtrack portals while manually looking for ones you've missed. Just why??

"SwooshCat" is a difficult precision platformer. Explore the map, beat enemies or use them as stepping stones, slash, dash, jump. Do so as a very cute little black cat that's as sneaky as they come. In theory, it should had been a fun challenging game. In reality, it's a frustrating game due to its controls. I'm guessing it's better with a controller but even then I imagine it being uncomfortable. Getting used to it will be the real challenge and not what you must do as a solution to progress the levels. While there is a variety of maps and mechanics, the game simply isn't fun and it quickly becomes boring. The soundtrack isn't helping either.. It's a solid game and idea but I can't recommend it. It needs work to become more player friendly as most deaths will be due to you not being able to execute the required action, not because it's actually difficult or requiring skill or having a profound solution that you can't come up with. I must also mention that you won't play nearly as fast as you see in the video and description. You'll be using slow motion pretty much constantly. Thankfully, you spawn very close to your death spot so you won't be backtracking. You can try it if the…

Brilliant game. As a content creator I was given a key to play on my channel ( https://youtu.be/HGffjhzHMYI ) and I have to say, this little gem is an absolute time-sink. I do like games with cats in and this is simply charming, especially the graphics and although tough to control, you do get used to it - but the screens get more and more challenging. Clever use of where you spawn when you die stops this being a complete nightmare where at least the point I got to, you do not have to retrace your paws too far to get back to where you are. My one regret - I was given this key and did not purchase this. Developers like this need to be embraced and if I could roll back time, I would have declined the key and paid for this myself. I wish this gave every success and as a fine point, it reminds me of Tiny Wings. That was a game have had lovely visuals, but got as hard as nails as it went on. Great soundtrack as well. This game although not Tiny Wings in game play style, has great sound and visuals that sucks you in. The video I made for this was way longer than the usual ones as you just get lost in the game and want to carry on.
A challenging hack-and-slash precision platformer where you willingly hurl yourself into deadly spikes
SwooshCat has little real narrative; its only goal is for you to conquer a pure, brutally difficult pixel-art platformer. Like most platform games you clear stages using dashes and jumps, without built-in double-jump. Instead you must earn extra airtime by bouncing off items or defeated enemies. Another twist: many sections expect you to dash straight into spikes and use them as part of the solution. Sure, there are other platformers where you ricochet off spikes with a weapon, but forcing a one-hit-kill character to physically slam into spikes raises the challenge to a new level. About a hundred base maps (plus a handful of hidden maps) get progressively harder and more stylish, so simply clearing each stage feels fantastic—after countless deaths, of course. I finished the game with a gamepad first, then tried keyboard-and-mouse for a bit; the latter is far more precise and makes the game noticeably easier. If tight precision platformers wear you out, I recommend the keyboard-mouse combo. (After ten hours on a gamepad my hands were trembling—pretty sure…
