About Fun Zone Omega
- Assemble your crew from 12 bizarre adventurers—each with unique field skills, combat abilities, and delightfully quirky personalities. There's a clown, a ninja, a neanderthal, a skeleton, a sentient Twinkie, and it only gets weirder from there.
- Freely roam the sprawling ruins of Vacation Island, a post-apocalyptic paradise with over 400 screens to explore. Gain experience not just from battles, but from discovering forgotten places.
- Arm yourself with the absurd leftovers of a decadent civilization: pool noodles, nail guns, rollerblades, x-ray glasses, and more. Each of the 200 items comes with its own stats and abilities.
- Face off against a mutant menagerie: gun-toting mermaids, flesh-hungry flamingos, mushroom fairies, homicidal jello cakes—and much, much worse.
- Survival is more than combat. Disarm traps, hack ATMs, forage for food, dig tunnels, and use your party’s field skills to outwit the island’s many dangers.
- Discover lore by interacting with hundreds of strange landmarks. Every description and line of dialogue changes depending on who’s in your party.
- Approximately 10 hours of exploring, battling, and resource management. No filler! All game!

Fun Zone Omega is praised for its witty writing, quirky characters, engaging exploration, and solid old-school RPG mechanics that successfully blend absurdist humor with its post-apocalyptic setting. However, players note that the game suffers from tedious and unavoidable combat encounters, and some feel the RPG Maker engine limitations detract from the experience, though the overall package is still recommended for those who enjoy indie JRPGs with strong worldbuilding and the developer's distinctive artistic style.
I gave Fun Zone Omega an honest go, I've completed the game. I cannot recommend it. Fun Zone Omega is as if Xoo: Xeno Xafari was transplanted into the setting of Alien Squatter, then buried under heaps and heaps of the most basic and tedious "combat encounters" imaginable. I could rant more, but I'd rather leave you with this: Go play other A. Hagen works, fascinating games, most of them free! Then consider paying for FZO out of respect for their artistry.2 found this helpful
Love RPG? Make sure to Follow my Curator Page for plenty more!
The game turned out to be surprisingly good. The RPG maker is a bit frustrating, but it's made up for by the quirky characters with their own personalities. And of course, there's excellent humor, which is rare these days. I definitely recommend it. ✔️7/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdVNm_AlXrI
And don't forget to Subscribe to my Youtube

Join my Steam Group
2 found this helpful
(TLDR: A Fun indie RPG with engaging dialogue, entertaining characters, and amazing exploration mechanics) First of all, I should note that the game works perfectly on Steam Deck, just make sure to put it in full screen on the title screen settings. I first became aware of this game while browsing the JRPG options for the Steam Next Fest. I don’t even know what initially drew me to this game other than the fact that it seemed like a cute, Phantasy Star-like experience. The game follows a group of 4 adventurers as they are sent on a mission to excavate a hypercapitalist post-apocalyptic earth. The game does a really good job of balancing absurdist humor with staying true to its premise. What I mean by this is that sometimes indie JRPGs go a bit too far on the goofy side to the point that the experience feels more like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than anything else. While Fun Zone certainly has goofy elements, it takes its premise seriously enough to the point that I was thoroughly invested. What I found to be by far the best part of this game was its writing. The area descriptions do a good job of painting a vivid scene with the game's minimalist graphics. Certain things, like mermaid hunting, …1 found this helpful
i see the best bits of Andi's previous works put together in another fun, lore-rich world. good tweaks on classic rpg conventions makes for interesting gameplay but still comfortable. there's no movement limitations this time around; instead you're basically limited by your party's power and how much you're willing to risk due to random battle encounters. also really appreciate that this engline allows you to play the entire game with only a mouse!
"Fun Zone Omega" is an old-school top-down party-based RPG with nice exploration and progression and the newest game of indie dev A. Hagen. You play a bonkers cast of mutants trying to find a space ark in a postapocalyptic corporate tourist island. There are some unique movement-/survival-skills with the different characters, no consumables (which is a plus in my opinion, makes the experience more streamlined) but unfleeable combat encounters (which can be offputting for some I guess). Overall nothing groundbreaking, but fun for the worldbuilding, the "how-far-can-I-push-myself?"- gameplay and the writing (which is always great). The last dungeon may require a bit of grinding, but nevertheless a solid and quirky retro-time! (If you never heard of the dev, try their free games out, they are well worth your time!)
A fun little indie jaunt, the writing is really good! I would recomend playing in sessions and not in a marathon. As an Rpg it's ok with some fun combat encounters, you really have to balance your time out away from camp and resources.
