Thornwood Palace

Fun platformer, very hard. Great game

Overall this is a fun, charming platformer. But, I have some problems with the controls. The movement feels "floaty" and a bit unresponsive. I feel like I often am sliding to a stop slowly instead of stopping immediately. Also, jump height is always the same amount, so I can't do small jumps by pressing my up arrow just a little bit, which is something I expect from platformers, usually. In a similar vein, I dislike the jump ability and Goth Boots ability being tied to the up and down arrows. For my hands, it is very hard to press both at the same time. I would feel much better if they were on the other side of the keyboard, perhaps bound to Z and C. Also, the way the grandfather clocks move is not very intuitive for me. Sometimes they're fast and I haven't figured out why. That made the Boots Level very frustrating since I felt like many of my failures were not my fault. Overall pretty cool though! I'm not done with the game yet, so expect me to update my review when I am.
