Captain Blood

This is a weird recommend, considering I refunded the game, but hear me out. The game is cool, it has a really neat style. It is nothing noteworthy, in terms of the gameplay, and the jank is... well, everywhere. It feels a bit unfair to play, at times, and it is highly repetitive. I suppose my recommend comes from the fact that the game is a time machine, it feels like it belongs back in those beautiful days of the PS2 or Xbox 360. It is 100% something to play, especially on sale, when you want to put those nostalgia goggles on and play something from a much simpler time in gaming. Also, the fact that it ever even got published? That deserves props in and of itself.

I really tried, but I just wasn't having fun after just an hour, a 20 minute port combat sequence in the first mission, and the second mission being one of the most awful sea battles I've ever seen in a game, I just have no desire to try and continue. The combat is floaty and your attack range is so low at default. The execution is okay until its the only way to regain health because the cannon balls deal so much damage to you while you're trying to engage with your own cannons that run on a cooldown and you can be interrupted on the cannon by literally any damage. The first boss fight stops taking damage until you engage with the cutscene QTEs that popped up 4 times during the fight

I know this game came out with years dedication and investment. But quite frankly speaking, have you guys devs actually play this game yourself? The highest difficulty is almost like ridiculously unplayable, three to four musketeers can immediately interrupt your attack input and just put you into some firing squad execution type of sh*t. Not to say your need to spend like 15 minutes to defeat the third Boss because in highest difficulty your attack only undermine a tiny piece of bosses' health bar. Clunky movement, meaningless attack combo. I really want to appreciate this game since there aren't much pirate slash games, but this.... This is just horrible.

Been wanting a game like this for awhile and I finally got a copy let me say this game feel's like a classic ps2 game its god of war wearing a pirate theme mask its fun go buy it . Edit so the plot thickens Funny thing is, this game was supposed to release like 17 years ago But the 2008 financial crisis hit the Russian video games industry real hard So the game got canned And like 3 or 4 years ago someone just leaked the game on some random torrent And people started playing it and it turned out that the game was basically finished Like 1 thing missing was an English dub Oh, this game is also technically a spin off (of at least originated as a pin off) of the Sea Dogs series The second game in which is, through the magic of Bethesda, and officially licensed Pirates of the Caribbean game

This games only redeeming value is its presentation. Every, and i truly do mean, every, gameplay mechanic/design of this game is LAUGHABLY horrible.
