About OVIS LOOP

✦ AI summary

OVIS Loop is a roguelike action game where you play as Omega, a lone sheep fighting through endless loops of combat against wolves and Doctor Wolf's augmented minions while unlocking new weapons and skills that reset with each run. What sets it apart is its adaptive boss AI that learns your playstyle, combined with a flexible skill system that lets you customize upgrades however you want—whether you're chaining abilities together or perfecting a single technique to carve your own path through the post-apocalyptic battlefield.

Step into a world where combat never has to go the same way twice. Engage the lupine enemy in dynamic combat, with responsive and precise battle controls.Find a host of ferocious enemies, ranging from the smallest minions to hulking monstrosities – with an army augmented by the despicable Doctor Wolf.Unlock new weapons, skills and abilities to pick up on each run, but Protectors beware! One wrong move and while Omega will persist through death, any modifications collected will be lost as you hit a new Loop with a fresh loadout – it’s time to steel your woollen form, and protect the flock.

After defeating enemies, players will download and evolve critical skills to help you fight through the Loop. Rather than just acquiring new skills, Ovis Loop gives you the choice between passive and active upgrades for each skill.Decide to buff the skill you have, or add an additional chained skill to carry on carving your way through Doctor Wolf’s minions. Our skill and combo system allows you to play your way. Focus on strengthening just one skill, or embrace the dynamic force of the chain, it’s up to you.
Each Alpha enemy and Doctor Wolf’s augmented monstrosities provide increasingly difficult challenges as you progress through the Loop. As well as harbouring secrets about Ovis Loop’s world and inhabitants, they also learn from your own playstyle.Whether you like to charge in, use area of effect or dive in and out, each boss will adapt to meet your challenge. Focus on dodging and find a boss that aggressively pursues. If you prefer to rush in, it’ll retreat to find space. You define the battle, but each Loop is designed to test you with more than simple pattern recognition. Overcome each challenge through intuitive action and a build that works for you.

An unconventional story, maybe, but this is not the tale you have heard before. As well as powerful new skills and abilities, you’ll uncover secrets about Ovis Loop’s post-apocalyptic world and (more importantly) about our hero Omega. Become the Shepherd, protect your flock, and delve into the mysteries you find in each Loop.Ovis Loop is the chronicle of just one lone sheep, trapped in a brutal, looping war with a lupine enemy. In this fight, you must stand alone, but Ovis Loop gives you the tools to succeed, for those with wool made of steel.

✦ AI summary

OVIS LOOP is praised by players for its satisfying combat, rewarding progression system, excellent soundtrack, and impressive visual polish for its small file size, with developers actively updating the Early Access title. The main complaints center on enemy swarms making it difficult to read attack telegraphs and the jarring difficulty spike between regular enemies and bosses, though some players view the challenge as intentional and enjoyable. Players generally feel the game is worth trying, with several describing it as addictive and fun enough to warrant extended play sessions.

Would be a good game if the game did not swarm you with a crap ton of enemies at once making it hard to see the clues when a enemy will unleash a strong attack.

Love this game so far i didnt beat it yet but yea im having fun. The game is only 500mb but feels like it should be like a 3gb game which is awesome and it runs well. 3rd boss is kinda giving me a run for my money but i like that (i will say going from common enemies to bosses in difficulty is night and day but that makes sense). The skill tree is very well animated. the progression system is rewarding too and fun to see it all come together. (not a fan of some of the ai translation but its understandable) the main character is adorable and also badass. i like that the enemies have their own death/dead animations instead of just turning into meat or skeleton or something (i always hated that for some reason) but yea very worth the money and more is still being added it seems.

Great visuals, music scores, and some solid gameplay. I applaud anyone writing their own game engines and LIFUEL has done just that for this title. Consistently updated and changes made in Early Access so far.

Astronomic disaster. Ecological collapse. Genocide. How having a robot sheep smack a bunch of wolves with a hunk of metal actually solves any of that is beyond me, along with much of the plot, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's fun. It's a roguelite mass-murder platformer-beat-'em-up. And I do mean 'mass.' Does anyone else remember when target caps on AoEs just weren't a thing? Ovis Loop's devs sure seem to, and any given swing of your giant pendulous wad of ram-fueled metal will make a dozen wolves find the floor with their arses. The noise of that many simultaneous impacts almost starts to cover up the *fantastic* soundtrack - I want to use the words 'Apocalyptic synthwave' even if that's not a real genre of music? And you won't stop swinging, either, because the game has a Bloodborne-like health recovery system that rewards furious aggression with partial health regains after taking hits. So I recommend turning the SFX volume down, personally. The USP, of course, is the combo system, which lets you staple entire skills to other skills as upgrades, and part of the skill of building in Ovis Loop is trying to figure out which skills work and flow together. Finding the right combination lets…

This game was so much fun that the first time I opened it, I did an 8 hour shift of it.

This game is amazing even in its early access state! The combat is incredibly satisfying, and you can create so many fun and unique builds depending on your playstyle. The gameplay loop feels addictive, progression is rewarding, and every run keeps things fresh. The developers also seem passionate and active, which gives me a lot of confidence for the future of the game. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy action roguelikes with deep build variety and satisfying combat.
