The Diner at the End of the Galaxy

After doing some quick research the consensus is the game is abandon. last update was in dec of 2025 went dark since. sadly i can't recommend a game that prob won't ever receive updates. With some TLC this could be a pretty good game for the genre but doesn't look that's going to happen. I picked this up on a sale, played for abit before typing up a review thinking it was still being worked on. Promising setting and look but right now the controls and interactions with the game itself is frustrating, Some notes - ESC doesn't back out of screens, - When pausing time and exiting a menu it resumes time, - Expanding rooms or adding objects/staff seem to freeze everything or reset them. - Loading seems far to long for the game, least from what I experienced - The Tutorial is pretty random and long winded. True it's needed but pretty frustrating to close the window ready to do one task and it pops up with a new one without giving time to complete the first. - overlapping dialog going at once.

This game has so much potential and I really want to love it, but the controls are so bad right now it makes it too frustrating to play.

Requested a refund. Seriously feature-incomplete even for an early access title and seems to be abandoned.

I feel shame for even bringing up the game at my last friends' getogether. The previews looked awesome and couldn't wait to play it, but quickly enough it seems to me like abandonware. The concept is true the moon but the execution is in the gutter

The game looked promising in the screenshots, but in its current state it feels tiring and unplayable 😬. One positive thing is that Polish is available in the language settings 👍. However, the translation is full of mistakes and characters that the current font does not support (ć, ń, ó, ą, etc.). Text often does not fit inside UI boxes, so it gets cut off or jumps to the next line. This looks especially bad on buttons. You should run all Polish text through ChatGPT again, because words like “Potwierdzać” instead of “Potwierdź / Akceptuj”, “Spis” instead of “Ekwipunek”, “Rosnąca łatka” instead of “Grządka”, and many others make the Polish version difficult to play. In addition, during the tutorial there was a step where I had to change the wall view and the message told me to look for the option in the top left corner, but it turned out the button was actually in the top right. I also have major issues with the tutorial itself. The learning path needs improvement. The game should guide the player more clearly and highlight where to click with the cursor instead of repeatedly showing the same help window. Another problem is that you cannot scroll the text of the old man shown on…

Game looked nice with a few interesting twists on the genre. I couldn't get past the extremely unpleasant sound effects of the UI: they're too loud, too obnoxious, too high-pitched. This is a detail that won't probably matter for a lot of players, but if you have any kind of sound sensitivity, you're in for a bad experience. Devs acknowledged that feedback (right after release) on social networks, but it never got corrected, which hints at the game not longer being actively supported, which means I cannot recommend it for now.
