About Prosperous Universe

THE SPACE ECONOMY MMO

In Prosperous Universe, you are the CEO of your own spacefaring company. Explore the galaxy, design spaceships, forge alliances, and most importantly: produce, trade, transport, and profit.

Manage your business through a highly customizable user interface named APEX. Start your company at a slow pace as you accumulate wealth over real-time hours, and watch as all your hard work comes to fruition.

Real Economics. Real Ramifications

Contribute to a purely player-driven MMO economy in a persistent universe allowing for unique experiences, a multitude of play styles, and no grind to speak of. With its emphasis on realism in everything from the economy to space travel, Prosperous Universe provides a unique experience to players of all backgrounds.

COLONIZATION

From civilization building to workforce behavior, reality has guided the design for this space MMO.

There are a wealth of factors to consider when deciding where to build your first base such as: atmosphere, minerals, temperature, pressure, access to water, and terrain. Understanding and exploiting complex systems are key to surviving in the vastness of the universe. Will you set up shop near the local commodity exchange or venture out to remote parts of the universe for more resources? The choice is yours.

PRODUCTION

No grind required: The success of your simulated business is not limited by the amount of time you input.

Set your own goals and forge your own destiny in the deepest reaches of space. Every resource and commodity can and must be produced by a real player. Choose your profession wisely. Certain materials are easy to produce but won’t make you rich, while others are scarce but require careful planning. Stumble upon a goldmine-like supply chain and watch your profits skyrocket.

TRADING

Every price is determined by supply and demand in a real-time market exchange that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This online space simulator provides an economy in which all players compete and cooperate with one another. Trade or bid on commodities, in-game currencies, and information with a vivid operational interface hub. Bringing wealth to your base will increase your workforce population, and over time your space colony will transform into economic force to be reckoned with.

SHIPPING

Transport cargo, design spaceships, or explore remote planets as you so desire.

Spaceships provide players with a multitude of strategies. Will you establish multiple bases across the galaxy, ferrying materials to and from each location? Or maybe you would rather fulfill shipment contracts where you deliver resources to other players, for a price of course. Keep an eye on your fuel gauge, you don’t want to be caught on the intergalactic highway on empty.

POLITICS

Become the Governor of your planet and rule with an iron fist or a benevolent heart.

Many planets are home to several political factions. These factions have their own interests and political agendas that may run in opposition to your personal or collective goals. Choose to join them or work against them. With enough leverage, you’re sure to be able to convince even the most powerful of politicians.

Choose Your Play Style

Prosperous Universe offers several ways to play the game. The Free License is for new players and for those wanting a more leisure experience. The PRO License is for mid- to late-game players that want advanced gameplay options. The Basic License is activated once a player discontinues their PRO License.

I've been playing Prosperous Universe for a couple of weeks now and I think it's an excellent game. It is an incredibly deep space economy and trading simulator with complex manufacturing chains, logistics, transportation and player-driven commodity markets. There is also a government and political side to the game, although I haven't explored that yet. The game runs entirely in real time, which makes every decision feel meaningful. The commodity markets are one of its strongest features and I think they will become even more interesting as the player base continues to grow. Be aware that this isn't a fast-paced game. It has a steep learning curve and requires a lot of forward planning. During the first few days or weeks you may feel like progress is slow, but as you expand with additional buildings, factories, ships and bases the game becomes increasingly engaging and rewarding. I also suspect that some of the negative reviews come from players who haven't given the game enough time. It can seem slow and quite complex at the beginning and that may put some people off before they've experienced what the game really has to offer. Personally, I love complex, involving games …

Seemed like a really good game but, it locked-up on me. It's stuck in the flight control screen. The page doesn't have any response from the mouse or keyboard.

Honestly? This is a great game. I can't recommend playing the Steam version, however, as using your browser is better in for a myriad of reasons. What a lovely community! Sunk a lot of time into this little gem.

I have been playing this game on browser for 2 weeks, and just want to comment here to let people know that SUBSCRIPTION IS NOT NECESSARY! You can just buy 2-3 months of PRO and still maintain big companies and enjoy almost all the features at the same time! Let me break it down: FACT: After purchasing PRO for a month your account will stay at least BASIC, which lets you receive contracts (which is MOST IMPORTANT!). The second important thing that requires PRO is HQ upgrade and ship construction. However, you just only need to buy PRO license twice to reach the maximal productivity - 1). For HQ, upgrades beyond 20 would require an exponential amount of materials, so most players just stop at 20. What you can do is play in PRO for the first month and get to 10(quite easy with the help of community), then wait a few months until you get the materials ready. Then purchase another one-month PRO and get 20 instantly. 2). For ships it's the same, you will likely need to upgrade your starter ship in first 30 days. Then you just gain capitals until you can construct like 5-10 ships at once. ACTUALLY YOU ONLY NEED 30 DAYS TO HAVE THAT MUCH CAPITAL. Also, personally I would be willing to h…

Interesting economy/resource management game that plays better in the browser than through steam. It is slow paced, and only takes a few minutes a day, although planning what you're going to do can take as long as you want. Its text based, there are no 'graphics' as such so expect that and there is a subscription model but you don't need that, at all arguably, but certainly not for a long time. As complexity increases, then so will the time you need to 'play' each day. The community is more on Discord now than in game which is a shame.
