Prosperous Universe

It's a unique game in its genre. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a logistics and trade simulator.

Been playing Prosperous Universe for a while now, mostly making prefab building materials, because apparently my dream is to become the guy who supplies everyone else with building materials. I really like how much there is to actually think about. Production chains, transport, prices, logistics, upgrades, trying to make a profit without immediately finding out you’ve spent half your money moving something across the galaxy. There’s something oddly satisfying about seeing a production line running properly and knowing that somewhere out there, someone is probably buying the stuff I made to build something else. I’m basically space B&Q, except with more spreadsheets and significantly less chance of someone asking me to load their purchase into their van. It's a slow burner, but that’s part of what I like about it. You make a plan, set things up, check your numbers, then come back later to see whether you’ve made money or accidentally built an incredibly efficient machine for losing it. Really good game if you enjoy logistics, economics and watching numbers slowly get bigger. And if you ever need prefab building materials, you know who to call.

The free version is barely playable after supposedly having been in active development for years (the interface is clumsy even for basic gameplay). Installing it, installs Microsoft Edge (even on Linux) and playing it in a browser like Chrome is the way to go. For the pro version you might as well play EVE online, which actually has graphics.

Im sure there are people who like this type of thing but its not for me. was kinda misled with how this game was advertised but still decided to give it a try and after 9 hours i can say this is a terrible thing whatever it is. complete waste of my time. Too much information to do almost nothing.

ive played most of my time outside of the steam client so my hours are actually much higher. the game is solid! if you like hardcore economy sims this game is for you. if you mess up and start an unprofitable production chain it will drain you. if you are smart and invest intelligently... youll flourish. 9/10

This is an extremely sad negative review to write. The core game is good, the community is generally good but its taken a turn in direction which makes a game which was already intensive to keep an eye on tedious and not worth it unless you want to keep up with drama in 4 different discords and to find out who is either "manipulating" or straight up cheating systems to ruin the game. Generally well implemented and designed game, the early game can be a little slow but it gives you time to learn how you want to progress into the mid game which is where most of the enjoyment is had. Going from Mid to late still gives that satisfaction of growth and its where i spent the most of my time, the planning of going from one resource to many, to narrowing to a focused end goal just shines in the game, but late game leaves a little to be desired, very little specialisation so eventually you realise there's no real reason to do one thing over an other. The community is where this game shone for me in the first 6 months or so, so many people are willing to help, share knowledge, share resources to give little bumps in progress.
