Overall, this game is very polarizing, but then again, it wouldn't be a Double Dragon game otherwise. I have to admit that I went into Double Dragon Revive with a lot of apprehension... especially because it came after the masterpiece that is DD Gaiden. However, despite what a lot of the gaming community would have me believe, I found a very fun albeit ambitious game. Double Dragon Revive has a lot going for it, and will please many fans of the franchise. Of course it features the titular heroes, Billy and Jimmy Lee - both in their respective colors of blue and red, who each have their own move-sets, specials, and play styles. This helps add to the replay value when you go back into the game after beating it for the first time. (You will also have a fun time chasing down all of the achievements in the game after completing it too!) In addition to the Lee brothers, Revive also lets you play as Marian (no longer the damsel in distress) and Yagyu Ranzo, from Double Dragon III. Both of these characters are great additions to the roster and play very differently from one another. We've played over 40 hours of Double Dragon Gaiden, and balked at the price of this on local co-op. We were looking for a new fighting game, having nearly all of the local co-op beat-em-up's on steam. Myself, I found the 3D and camera hard to adjust to at the beginning, but I would say within the first hour of play - and both doing the tutorial, this is now our favorite game to play together. 100% recommended if you're into beat-em-up games with your partner on the couch. Difficult boss fight even on Normal mode but combat is stylish with able to block and dodge based on player skills.
