Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is a remaster of the fifth Legacy of Kain game. Here, for the very first time, you can control both Kain and Raziel in alternating chapters, as they defy against the Elder God's plans. Gameplay is more akin to Soul Reaver 2, with more focus on combat and less on puzzle-platforming, but the combat is better here. They have boss fights again, something SR2 sadly lacks. I love how you can play as 2 different characters, explore different timelines and see their point of view. Raziel's levels are more puzzle-centric, while Kain's more combat-centric since he cannot traverse the spectral realm. The story feels like an epic culmination, but the levels can get a bit repetitive as you revisit them several times, and sadly the Hylden, which are supposed to be the big bads, barely made appearances aside from possessing bodies, unlike in Blood Omen 2 where they are prominent. If you're playing this game, I recommend playing the previous 4 LoK games, as there are many references, and I like how some areas from the first game are revisited, although obviously changed to fit the game's style. Great remaster

In both cases, this game is worth it. [h3]IF YOU PLAYED ALREADY: (No Spoilers)[/h3] The biggest difference this remaster has to offer is the new camera perspective, you can now play the game with a modern third-person over the shoulder camera perspective at all times, instead of the dated fixed camera angle perspective similar to games like DmC and classic Resident Evil. This makes the famously annoying platforming segments MUCH easier and overall provides a totally different experience from the original (Keeping in mind that you can switch perspectives at any time). The best remaster that i played in a long time, game was nicely done and the gameplay is as good as it was on the original game. Would recommend
