Legacy of Kain: Defiance delivers a dark, story-driven finale to the series, letting players control both Kain and Raziel in a richly written gothic world. The narrative and voice acting are standout, weaving complex themes of fate, time, and redemption. At this point, don't bother with this version - it's a terrible port that is fundamentally broken in some ways. No controller support makes it a frustrating experience. If you want to play this game at its best, get the remaster. I mainly bought this to support the studio in hopes that it would help get more remasters in the future, as well as new games in the series. Legacy of Kain deserves to live on!

This was the first game of the series I played as a kid. Bought it with my own pocket money. Still own the CDs. I grew to love the atmosphere and the lore. One of my all-time favorites, excellent cast, excellent story, dialogue and performances are iconic.

Played on console as a kid, had to pick it up as respect for Crystal Dynamics, this game series has one of the best stories in all of fantasy games. Genuinely it's amazing, I can get lost in lore videos for hours because it's that great.

Kain is at his peak in Defiance. Wielding the Soul Reaver tightens his grip on Raziel, Mobius, and other enemies Kain faces on his journey to restore the Pillars of Nosgoth to its glory. There are several instances in this action game that have forged a strong admiration for Kain and his attempts to regain his reign over his kingdom. His voracious laughter heard while piercing his blade through his foes can be felt in the distant future. Loved every minute of playing Legacy of Kain: Defiance and can't wait to purchase its sequel Ascendance that's launching at the end of this month.
