I finished Soul Reaver 1 for the first time now thanks to this remake. I used to play this game a lot in my childhood and didn’t understand many of the aspects of this game because my English wasn’t as good as it is now. The fact that caused me to leave the game altogether. This brings so many memories and happy stories. I used to quote lines from the game among friends. I love the ability of switching between old PS1 graphics and the new remastered version on the fly. Even in between cutscenes which was a very nice thing to have. You get to see how much graphics can improve throughout the years. I discovered, now that I understood the gameplay well and the story, that this game (Soul Reaver 1) doesn't do a good job in telling you what to do next. The hints, or lack of, are very few and you’re supposed to figure things out on your own which is very annoying for a person my age. I also was surprised at how the game mechanics are very simple and easy. I really recommend this collection for those who are thinking of revisiting an old game, and do with some old unfinished gaming business. But don’t expect an update in game mechanics, it’s the same old and slow game with imp…1 found this helpful
Legacy of Kain is the giant whose shoulder's that subsequent games stand on. Released first in 1999, it's a nearly 30 year old game. Even though the platforming is a bit challenging at times, the game really is a perfect blend of combat, puzzles and platforming, not to mention the amazing story and atmosphere! It's such a fascinating and captivating dark-fantasy gothic world brought to life by Amy Hennig. Where Raziel was cast down the abyss for his transgression against his father Kain, only to wake up centuries later and to find his brothers mutated by Kain's corrupted soul into monstrous abominations. And by the stars, the voice acting is absolutely stellar, and woven in by hyperliterate, erudite language. Michael Bell, Simon Templeman and Tony Jay to mention just a few. It's a timeless classic. And I finally now understand my best friend's obsession and love for this game.1 found this helpful

The classic is reborn and it's great
I love this game!
A very good game. Oldie but I still recommend it. Very good writing. If you like Legacy of Kain you should start with Blood Omen 1 or this one, Soul Reaver 1 and 2. Peak.
