About Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2

You are the Nomad — an elder vampire awakening from a century-long slumber, new to the modern nights. Trapped in your Blood is a stranger’s voice. This entity, a vampire detective known as Fabien, will be your guide to 21st-century Seattle. You will explore the city through his eyes as well as those of the Nomad, as you revisit a cold case from a hundred years ago that is threatening undead and mortal society alike.Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.
Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger. However, be cautious about breaking the Masquerade: revealing your true nature risks reprisals, starting with law enforcement and escalating from there. Remember, you are not the only creature that goes bump in the night.Experience immersive, visceral combat that rewards various playstyles and approaches based on your choice of vampire clan. Will you engage in close combat with supernatural strength, attack from a distance with blood sorcery, or silently thin the herd like the apex predator you are? Your clan choice will support these playstyles and more. Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots, and schemes will determine the balance of power and what becomes of the city and its people.

I'm a big fan of vampires, my interest in vampire fiction peaked when I was put onto Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles through its AMC adaptation and I'm currently reading through the books. Ever since I got put onto that series I've been yearning for a good videogame about vampires and that's how I got into Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. I think the world of Vampire The Masquerade matches quite well with what I've learned to love about vampiric fiction, vampires can be campy, creepy, queer, or sexy and the see themselves above humanity despite being god fearing and power hungry. (btw the Sabbat are right, I just wish they weren't all lunatics) What I really like about the game: I really like the fast paced combat and traversal around the map, the story (although I've not completed it) is intriguing and fun, I'm a fan of a lot of the characters and some of the mystery portions of the game are great to wrap your head around. That's about it. I do like having player customisation but it's extremely lacking for me, I get Phyre is their own character but I really want more out of it, I wanna be able to change face shape, skin colour, I want more varied hair styles and customisa…

Cool first hour, then woke writing ruins it First hour was immersive and fun — great movement, flying, sprinting, felt like a proper vampire. Then you meet the gay dude in the tower and the whole game’s writing and direction collapse. You’re a badass vampire taking orders from girl bosses and gays. Story went straight to ♥♥♥♥. Huge letdown.

Storyline's not bad and combat is quite easy. 6.5/10 would be a fair rating for this game.

Less of an RPG than it claims to be, and in no way is it a sequel to Bloodlines 1, but I can't stress enough how strong the writing of this game is, along with the mechanics. I had such a fun time playing this game, with the expectation that it was nothing like the first one. It does a fairly decent job of setting itself within WOD, and the story is pretty powerful overall, so I would still recommend it to fans of VTM-- I think you'll enjoy yourself as long as you keep your expectations realistic. I think too many people are giving the game a bad rap when it's actually quite entertaining and engaging. Lots of performance issues, however. Devs definitely need to fix the games optimization issues.

What a tedious slog of a game! First things first — if you are not a V:tM fan, there's nothing for you here. If you are a V:tM fan, then, I suppose, some comparisons should be fine with you. And we are all clear by now, I suppose, that this has absolutely nothing to do with Bloodlines 1, so I've approached this game just as an FPS in the V:tM setting. Well, the story is okay, showcasing trademark Kindred plots and intrigue. Still, in terms of story it's definitely behind the Choice of Games text quests (e.g. Night Road, Parliament of Knives). The voice acting also doesn't stand out. As for the gameplay, I'm afraid I actually liked Swansong's gameplay more. While also flawed, that game really allowed for different approaches, skills and using Disciplines outside of combat. Here you just have some combat magic spells, and there is really no incentive to unlock any combat skills once you get the ones you want (all of them are basically instantly available if you have the skill points), so I finished the game with something like 50 skill points. The fast-paced combat is fun at first, but gets really repetitive really quick, and by the end I was hoping for each fight to be the last. …
