Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

LoS2 is a massive downgrade from the first game. It's a visual treat, but it's clunkier, less focused and unfortunately just becomes boring through numerous streatches. The plaforming is worse than the first game, the camera controls are worse and there's a feeling that the deve mostly just threw ideas at a wall to see what sticks rather than having a cohesive idea. The first is worth playing. Mirror of fate (the second game for 3DS originally) is worth it for a cheap price (it's regulalry ~3-5 $CDN) if you like Metroidvanias. Skip LoS2 though. It's just not a good game.

An insanely clunky mix of aesthetics, the addition of out-of-place stealth mechanics, and the need to manually rotate the camera during combat without a target lock. I want to love this game—it has insanely beautiful graphics and locations: vampires, gothic themes, and battling mythical titans—that’s all cool, but as a game, it sucks. The last thing I wanted to see was robot people in gas masks with guns and aliens with bazookas.

the combat and lore is great, but the way you can easily get stuck in a loop with boss battles is so infuriating. Also the way the game focuses on stuff in the middle of a fight ruins all immersion and just makes you annoyed. It treats you like a braindead troglodyte with the way it will just pause the action to tell you the same ♥♥♥♥ you've seen over a dozen times now.

very good game having a blast to understand the story more

it's peak game i played in my during life

Not perfect, but a very underrated game. I like the future setting, and think it fits Castlevania's aesthetic quite well. The story has some cringey moments, but overall, it's still quite compelling. The combat is fun, exploration is mostly enjoyable, and as usual, MercurySteam nails it in the art and sound departments. So yeah, weakest game of the Lords of Shadow trilogy by far, but still far better than most people give it credit for.
