✦ AI summary

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is praised for its excellent remake with updated visuals and audio, alongside the ability to switch to classic graphics, and it captures the challenging old-school platformer spirit that appeals to fans of the genre. However, players consistently note the game is short, quite difficult with occasional frustrating segments like flying sections and collision detection issues, and the analogue stick controls are unreliable—requiring use of the D-pad instead. Most players suggest waiting for a sale rather than buying at full price.

🏆 100% Achievements Unlocked I have very fond memories of the original Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the Sega Master System. My dad bought me a Master System II (which had Alex Kidd built-in) along with Wonder Boy in Monster Land for Christmas when I was around 4 years old. I have good memories of Christmas morning around 1990 playing Alex Kidd with my dad. The DX version is an incredible remake with updated visuals and audio. You can even switch back to the original graphics and audio with a simple button press. My only complaint is that I would recommend against using an analogue stick for movement. Instead, stick strictly to the D-pad. The thumbstick doesn't always register accurately, and I found it incredibly unreliable. However, the D-pad is precise—probably because the original game was designed for one. 9/10

a bit short but was good. I liked Alex, very cute. once or twice he got stuck on a wall, so had to redo the whole map. the flying vehicle segments could be frustrating but doable and easier after a few times.

Very cool game the new pixel art looks amazing and I love how you can switch graphics on the fly but the game is old and is very hard with original controls turned on its also pretty short so probably buy it in a sale

A great remake/remaster for my beloved old friend Alex Kidd. Hope he's doing alright after all these years.

Never played this before, first impressions it's an old school punishing platformer. But IT's REALLY FUN! and it's beautiful too. But maybe I'm weird. I didn't grow up with difficult platformers outside of playing mario games (which were pretty easy) , I recently played the Dragon's Trap remake and had so much fun beating it! There's something I really missed about short, replayable games with difficulty. I don't really rage quit like other players though, I just see every death as a lesson and find it fun to see how I get better. Dragon's trap and Silksong honestly taught me how punishing platformers can be and how fun it is when you learn to be more precise with your movements. Game design has changed so much over the years, that games like this feel so different than most games out today. Can't wait to unlock the other game modes. Love that similar to Dragon's Trap you can see both versions of the game.Hope we get more old school games remade with new graphics, and I thought I had seen some of the best recent games pixel art in games like blasphemous, eastward, moonlighter etc but this game has a wonderful vibe and I'm glad I got it. I just miss when games felt like video g…
