Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

This game is very well made, my only problem is. dont start your save on hard unless you wanna put a bullet through your nose genuinely think I almost tied a noose at that one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ [spoiler]pirate ship[/spoiler] part great game/remake anyways 10/10

This game is a remake of Wonder Boy III, which was released in 1989, but nothing about it feels modern except for its outstanding art design. It has some of the worst character controls I have ever experienced. It also has the most stupid checkpoint system I have ever seen. In fact, it would be inaccurate to say that the game has a checkpoint system. If you die, you go straight back to the beginning of the game. I can't explain how much of a disappointment this game was for me. I'd give it 3/10, purely because of its amazing visuals.

We love hand-drawn animation in this house. It's a really really good remake. Pick it up.

Tastes like childhood. A beautiful coat of paint over a classic that aged like fine wine. Although I'd forgotten how hard if gets once you become hawk man.

Everything about this game is great except it has one glaring flaw- the game itself. Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is a modern remake built on the bones of a classic, basic platformer. Think of this game like Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, a fresh coat of paint on a classic game with very minimal changes, if any at all. If that interests you, this is a definite purchase, otherwise, your mileage may vary. Personally, as beautiful as this game is, it was just a little too basic for me to continue and finish.

The gameplay is a bit simple and hasn't aged the best, however the presentation is so good that I don't even care. Beautiful looking and sounding game.
