Last Time I Saw You

Surprisingly grounded and real characters and their stories. It's kinda funny and strange to me since I'm at a point in life where I can start really feeling for both the adult parent characters and the younger ones. The writing here is well done! I enjoyed most of it even if ot was a bit yappy here and there and even tho for the 10 in-game days you're visiting mostly the same locations and doing the same routine just with different text. Even the story was pretty intriguing and surprising for the most part. There is a lot of sweet and bittersweet messages and experiences to relate to :) There is not that much in terms of gameplay, but atleast you get to walk around and also swing your bat every once in a blue moon. The art is beautiful tho. The strongest part of the game for me was definitely the overall [b]art and writing[/b]. My rating: [b]Very solid 4/5[/b]

[h3]Disclaimer: THIS IS NOT AN ACTION GAME[/h3] The major problem I’ve had with this game was the Steam’s trailer. It made me expect a metroidvania or a light action roleplay while Last Time is an adventure game with a slice of life… no make that a rather hefty chunk of life visual novel added in for a flavor. It’s extremely text and lore heavy. The enemies are nothing more than obstacles moving along linear paths and are easily avoided or dispatched with a single swing of the protagonist’s bat. Until the very final act of the game none of the locations even contain enough enemies to kill the protagonist which renders the hp mechanic entirely redundant. Really fun little game. Very cute!

Short, chill game and easy to 100%

Aesthetically, this may very well be the most beautiful game I have ever seen and played. Stunning is a mild term to describe the beauty which meets your eye in every single shot and screen of the game. But the game isn't just about the art. It has a lovely, almost understated soundtrack that goes so very well with the game, raising it's strength even further. And the story is incredibly gripping, especially for anyone with a fondness for myths and Japanese folklore, but of course, the real bread and butter over here is the extremely heartfelt and sincere coming of age story, told in the most human of manners despite the supernatural always being present. The gameplay is exactly what's needed for such a game, and playing it was an absolute joy. I cannot recommend this game highly enough.
