"1001 Jigsaw. World Tour: France" is a basic browser/Flash/mobile-app like jigsaw puzzle game. Solve various jigsaw puzzles made up from images that the "developer" stole off the Internet and used without crediting the actual creators, making this plagiarism, as well as an asset flip and a cash grab. An example of the stolen, uncredited/plagiarised artwork is "Woman Architect Working With Blueprint", stolen and used without any apparent permissions or rights from the stock image site, BigStock. Sure, the image rights may allow some stock images to be used without credit (although there's no reason to believe so in this case), and claiming credit for the work of others, as is happening here, is unethical, and the creative and intellectual bankruptcy going on here is unacceptable. So what we have here is a basic jigsaw puzzle engine that's been skinned with a bunch of photos stolen off the internet and used without attribution. The icing on the cake is the "developer" here has copy + pasted + reskinned this same asset onto Steam a lot. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game an insane SEV…3 found this helpful
I'm playing Steam Games in alphabetical order and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/cYU4960afKg Prefer to read? This is one of 52 games in 8floor's "1001 Jigsaw" series that are basically a copy/pasted slop fest. Every game is nigh identical, with the only difference being the images used to create the jigsaw puzzles, all of which have been lifted without crediting the artists from various sites such as rgbstock, Unsplash and even Shutterstock. While technically not illegal, it's incredibly inconsiderate considering that these "games" wouldn't be anything without the images these artists provide. From a technical standpoint the game meets the absolute basics in terms of UI and mechanics. The looping music will make you irritated rather than relaxed, but the most frustrating element is that the cursor is misaligned in almost every game, resulting in numerous misclicks. I was also immensely disappointed by the lack of a single jigsaw puzzle with 1001 pieces in ANY of these games. Most importantly though, they recently INCREASED the price of many of their games, to nearly triple the original price. Because they feel comfortable selling a copy/pasted game, they'll be rec…
Full disclosure: I got this game on sale for .49 cents USD. I wasn't sure how much I might like it, but I've been pleasantly surprised. I'm not entirely sure that all 500 puzzles are set in France, exactly, but there are fun ones like the flying groom in the wedding photo, and some lovely fireworks photos. This title features all the usual bells and whistles. You can choose how many pieces and the cut of your puzzle with a slider system. You can choose the color of your play mat, and use a ghost image, photo or both to help you assemble the puzzles. You can also sort, do the border first, or put pieces away. There is a bug though that will warp you back to the start of the puzzle book, and another that won't let you customize a puzzle without paging away to another part of the book and coming back. These seem to come and go and I'm honestly not sure why. Overall, it's a pleasant collection of puzzles with a French theme. Certainly worth the sales price.
