Another Tower Defence game I own on the STEAM system, 1812 : NAPOLEONIC WARS is one of my favourites at the moment. As the title suggests, the game concerns Napoleon's invasion of Russia - but from the viewpoint of the defending Russian forces, whom we play. The game features over 100 levels and each is scored by up to 3 medals depending on how well we do, although they can be repeated for a better score if necessary. There is a maximum of 6 allied units including both Infantry and Artillery of various types, but strangely - considering the fame of the Russian Cossacks who played a pivotal role during the campaign - no Cavalry is present! Units begin quite weak but as the levels increase they can be built up to become formidable fighting formations thanks to 5 upgrades, which can be increased to a maximum of level 10,. Upgrades are purchased via the gems which are won during the game. Gems can also be used to buy 3 weapon types, including rockets, which are used during missions to weaken enemy units as they advance across the landscape. All the usual Tower Defence rules apply so any fans of the genre will instantly feel at home once the game begins. Placing units is limite…5 found this helpful
The localisation for this game comes straight from google translate. Bought it for my 9 year old as a simple "Napoleonics" game after he watched me playing Total War Empire and Napoleon which are a bit above his concentration level still, yet the English displayed here is so broken he was lost in minutes. When i sat down to read it to him to explain, i was also somewhat lost due to the poor translations. Gameplay wise it works. It's very, very clearly a mobile port. Game is functional at best.3 found this helpful
1812: Napoleon Wars is an unusual beast. It's clearly designed to be a mobile/tablet app tower defense game. It's got cartoony graphics, a shallow Napoleonic theme, cartoony mobile app popup characters that are needed for mobile peasants to understand what's going on, all that kind of dross. Gameplay itself, well, it's bad. This is basically an asset flip, it reeks like one. I can't pick the asset or game engine, however, but that doesn't change the fundamentals. It's a mobile app screen tapper TD game with really limited options. We can only wonder why this mobile app wasn't actually published on mobile app stores like it was clearly intended to be. But the quality is still that of a mobile app. Nobody should pay the laughable $10 for this when you can play better asset flips on mobile for free.3 found this helpful
A light, Napoleonic Wars themed tower defense game. If that interests you, then go for it. It's fun for that. But if you want a real strategy game. Look elsewhere.
A crap game. Do not waste your time downloading. Some soldiers jut do not attack, and nothing will attack horses or horses pulling carts.
Good tower battle game, easy to play and learn
