3D Escape Room: Detective Story

There was an attempt to copy The Room. There were even some good ideas. The execution, however, was not there. The lack of atmosphere, awful (if fairly unobtrusive) writing, poor mouse control, and occasionally hard to parse puzzle logic make it a swing and a miss. However, there's room to improve. The hint system is generally pretty strong, with an odd decision to lock it out for a while after you skip minigames. I hope the later games are better.

I think it's unjustified that this game received mixed reviews. Its logical that people compare this game to The Room series and it is true that this game is not as good as The Room series. But the Room series has set the bar very high. These 3D Escape Room games don't reach that bar but are still very decent games. I've played all the games from The Room series (and House of DaVinci) and now I'm playing through all the games of the 3D Escape Room series and I'm having just as much fun with all these games. These are games that are very well done and don't deserve mixed reviews.

Nice game - no real instructions but it isn't too hard to figure out what is required and there is a hint button to show you where you need to be. Took me about 2 hours per chapter so a nice way to while away 10 hours of my time.

It's literally a f2p mobile game they hastily ported to PC and then slapped a price on. The controls are a mess character jerks around stutters no fluidity feels super clunky

Probably the best from the series... that's not saying much. Just play "the room" instead. And if you've done it already, then just play scape simulator's fanmade rooms. trust me.

Very pretty game with some interesting puzzles. Not all the puzzles are clear, but for the most part, they are not terribly difficult and are entertaining.
