About A Pair of Feathers Squawk Together

A Pair Of Feathers Squawk Together is an easy-to-play, challenging-to-beat platformer inspired by the likes of Jump King and Bread & Fred. Flap the Parrot only has two controls: a right flap, to flap to the right, and a left flap, to flap to the left. As you get higher up the island, you'll encounter new regions with new gimmicks and traps to be wary of. Avoid getting sent back to the ocean down below, and find the treasure at the peak!

Singleplayer

Play the game solo and aim for a fast time! Your best time will be saved and displayed, perfect for bragging rights and speedrunning possibilities.

Multiplayer

Play the game with a friend for a co-op challenge! Each player will control one of Flap's two movement options: right flap or left flap. Coordinate your button presses as best you can; just don't blame your friend too hard when they mess up.

Multiplayer can be done locally or using Steam Remote Play. To use Steam Remote Play:
1. Press Shift+Tab to open the Steam Community Overlay
2. Click on the Remote Play Together tab at the bottom of the screen
3. Invite a friend or guest to your session
4. Enable Player 2's keyboard by clicking on the keyboard icon next to their name
5. Done! Both players can now use their keyboards to control the game

The rumored treasure is said to make you rich beyond belief. It's up to you (and possibly a friend!) to prove that the rumor is true!

PFST is a Foddian game where you can flap right and left, and have to flap as many time in the opposite direction to recenter the character. The map can be a bit punishing at the start but seems to be more forgiving in the few last section. It is also however fairly short which makes up for the punishing aspects, but makes the game a bit short too (45 min for me) Each section contain a new mechanics and a collectible to get. Overall, a fairly short foddian, but still pretty good in quality

It's an extremely short foddian with a decently novel movement mechanic and suitably humorous premise. It feels almost like a demo for a non-existent longer game, so I think there is a lot of potential for a more ambitious sequel without the strict need for further mechanical innovation. Unfortunately, the experience was soured somewhat by two separate bugs that prevented me from getting certain achievements until I reinstalled the game in one instance, and deleted my original save files in the other. This meant more time troubleshooting outside the game than time spent playing it, and the completion of many more playthroughs than I would have preferred in the name of testing (~10). I posted a Steam discussion post about these issues, so hopefully no future players are held back by them for as long as I was. I still recommend trying it if you're a fan of the genre, though I advise waiting for a sale.

A Pair of Feathers Squawk Together is an absolute delight for fans of precision platformers and cooperative gameplay. The game shines with its vibrant pixel-art visuals and whimsical pirate theme, placing players in the shoes (or talons) of Flap the Parrot. The primary goal—scaling an uncharted island to find hidden treasure—is engaging and filled with exciting challenges. The gameplay is where this indie title truly excels. It blends physics-based traps with classic platforming mechanics, offering a rewarding mix of skill and strategy. Whether you're dodging swinging obstacles or timing perfect jumps, each level feels well-designed and thought-provoking. For those who enjoy playing with friends, the local and online co-op options are a fantastic feature that adds depth and fun to the experience. Another standout element is the game's humor and lighthearted tone, which make even frustrating moments enjoyable. The developers, MewyGames, have clearly put a lot of care into crafting a game that appeals to casual and dedicated players alike. While it may not have a massive following yet, this game deserves to be on your radar. With its modest price and promise of future updates, A P…
