About Àrengard-Invasion

Àrengard-Invasion is a small online party game developed by myself in 2 weeks (LionDev) to learn multiplayer game development in Unreal Engine and how to publish a game on Steam so don't expect too much.

Select one out of four classes and prepare your castle for the Goblins siege in this "classic" mode. Features:
 • Classes (Archer, Soldier, Mage, Defender)
 • Fighting (PVE / CO-OP)
 • Control siegeengines
 • Different enemy classes (Bomber, Soldier, Siegeengines)
 • Earn gold

✦ AI summary

Players universally criticize Àrengard-Invasion as an asset flip with minimal effort, comprised mostly of unoriginal Unity store assets without proper credit, combined with weak gameplay mechanics and repetitive content. The game is viewed as a predatory free-to-play designed primarily to push overpriced DLC rather than deliver a complete experience, with particularly poor NPC AI and easily exploitable boss mechanics that undermine any challenge.

Àrengard-Invasion: A Freebie That's Not Even Worth the Download It’s free—because no one would actually pay for this. The game is a hollow shell that exists purely to push its DLCs on you. The gameplay? Repetitive grind-fest. The visuals? Stock assets slapped together. The story? Ha, what story? And those DLCs? That’s where the devs are hoping you’ll cough up some cash. They know the base game has zero staying power, so they dangle paid content like it’s a carrot. Except the carrot is moldy, and you’re better off just walking away. Honestly, if you want a time-waster, flip a coin for an hour. At least you won't be funding a cash grab disguised as a game.
Warning: Asset Flip! Àrengard-Invasion is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Synty assets, slapped his own name on them to take credit for Synty's work, and then applied them to a really lame Unreal brawler blueprint.... then very quickly added "donationware" DLC to try get your money for Synty's game assets. It has no value or merit as a real game. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt…

I played only the invasion gamemode. The NPCs dont really pose any threat, unless you dont know how to move. Once the normal NPC swings its sword, it just stays in place swinging its sword. The boss after every invasion can be easily fooled by going behind the Goblin camp walls, where he cant shoot at you, but you can shoot at him. Also after finishing the Knight difficulty, i did not get the achievement for finishing it without dying, which wasnt an issue for the peasant difficulty.
