"A Visit to Friends" is a badly made 2D retro collection of four really poor minigames with some of the laziest technical execution ever made. Sure, it's free, but so is stubbing your toe. All you do is wander around in each minigame and do some stuff... it's shallower than many Russian asset flips and game dev student projects. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $3 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on…

It's a simple game to play, but there are tons of unnerving elements to each story that really put this beyond a mere casual experience. Quite a bit of replayability thanks to the achievements as well, so overall a great free to play piece!
No Friends
This game was a great little experience, or it would have been had I not experienced several technical difficulties. It all has to do with the Factory. That part is the worst part of the game, while giving the player quite a bit of story to delve into for a short period of time, most of the time I accumulated happened with the Factory (and several restarts). The Factory is a part of the game that requires you to use sound to find the goal OVER and OVER again. In that level, the game crashed, and when it was started up, I experienced several glitches, where the character was invisible, where the text was unreadable clown vomit, etc. After several restarts and genuinely contemplating giving up, I was able to finally search my way through the flashing and disorientating lights, just to follow a barely noticeable sound all the way to the goal (several times). I genuinely hated the experience because of that.
