A Walk With Yiayia

Such a soulful, beautiful dedication to the lives of loved ones. I feel better for having played this game and heard Yiayia's story.

A short reflective interactive story about aging, health/ability/coming to terms with the limits of your body, family, childhood, regrets, and living in Greece and America in the 20th century. About 1 hour to finish. Not so heavy-handed that it feels like the game wants to make you cry--it feels more grounded in the realities of living and caring for an aging family member. My only criticism is I didn't like the final grasshopper platforming section. All the other interludes let you freewheel through the scenery, and this was the one section where you had to do something right with super finicky controls. Other than that it was very sweet and made me reflect on my own yiayia and on becoming a yiayia myself.

Finished! Short but sweet, and a little sad. I recommend playing on a rainy afternoon!

What an adorable. lovely, sentimental, and great game! It is a quick one, but boy, do I wish more games like this existed. You can tell this game was made with so much love and care and it really hits you in the feels. Most people would not consider this a masterpiece. I do! Thank you for going on a walk with me, yiayia!
