Actua Soccer 2

Well, I have to say it plays much better than I expected. I enjoyed full compatibility for my Xbox 360 controler, which was a great surprise. It has also aged technically overall - I assume that this version was updated to integrate with Steam, modern systems and controllers as well. It also runs quite smoothly and has licenced players/teams with nice player names in the commentary. An absolute must buy when discounted

Great game, would buy again

Please be aware, this is the PS release version not the original PC release. Different menus and some features such as Scenarios appear to be missing. My childhoold nostalgia slightly knocked despite the joy of seeing this on the store.

Unfortunately, this is not the PC version, but nevertheless a nice nostalgia blast. After awhile the game starts to become repetitive and boring with unrealistically large winning margins. Also I remember that in the PC version it was easier to get a red card with slide tackles. You could even get your whole team sent off IIRC. The appearance of custom players changes game by game unlike in the PC version. More importantly, the save system is unreliable because the game may crash. I managed to have some successful saves, but I have no idea why. Some other saves were not successful. The broken save system really limits the enjoyability of this game since playing a league season is very hard if you cannot trust that you can go back to a save. Despite its problems and shortcomings, I recommend this game if you want to experience Actua Soccer 2 again or if you just want to understand how football/soccer games were in the 90s.

Great game. Really fun. No matter how old it is, it's still one of the best soccer games out there.
