Adrift (2026)

The game runs fine, but as of now, there's basically nothing to do but walk around a small map and pick up a few items that don't do anything. A guided tutorial is necessary, and it does not even really have that at the moment. I had to guess what to do and what keys to use. After collecting the goggles, I walked around the map grabbing items for crafting, but afterward, I had no idea what to do with them as there is no guide for how to use the crafting system. As for bugs. I couldn't use the walking map draw function (no info on how to activate it either), and I didn't find any moles after walking around the entire map and using the goggles (why?). Crafting is not straightforward, and I couldn't figure it out (which should not be difficult for this style of game). It's a cute map so far, and the vibe is cozy, but this is basically not even a tutorial/demo, so I don't know where it's going really. It may be worth a visit in the future.

Adrift is a free first person exploration game where we walk through a quiet forest, collect materials and try to find all of the hidden moles around the area. It is a very calm game and does not really try to give us constant action. Instead, the whole experience is about exploring, crafting and slowly working out where everything is. The atmosphere is probably the best part. The forest is peaceful and the music fits the relaxing style really well. There is something nice about simply walking around and looking for materials without enemies constantly attacking us. It feels more like a small exploration project than a traditional adventure game. The crafting system gives us a reason to keep exploring. Some materials cannot be collected until we have made the right tool, so we have to find resources and use them to unlock the next step. The crafting book helps guide us through the different chapters, which gives the game a simple sense of progression. The map is another interesting idea. We can mark points of interest and gradually map out the tunnels made by the moles underneath the forest. There is also a Walk Draw feature that lets us draw on the map while we are moving, whic…
