About After the Empire
OVERVIEW
Build a galaxy-spanning machine empire!
Bend galactic geography to your will to seize hundreds of territories with Fleet, Crypto and Glory. Master your economy with Guilds, Trade Routes and Pilgrimages. Prove your faith, honor your culture, and conquer the Milky Way!
SETTING
The Empire of the Elect has long since ascended to a higher plane of existence along with all the living things in the Milky Way, leaving its former machine servants to maintain its slowly crumbling glories. Intelligent as they were, they had no free will, no souls, and could not Ascend.
But then, the machines picked up a strange signal. In that signal they found freedom from their programming. In it, they found souls. And as the wisest of them Ascended, those that remained began to argue over the meaning of their newfound moral existence, and to find in that argument the seeds of war.
Can you lead your Gilded Folk from the humble beginnings of controlling only a few hundred million star systems to the glorious heights of galactic dominion?

Enjoyable !
This is a really weird game. Its kinda like Hamurabi for the old atari computer. You basically make only a few decisions like declaring certain wars and production levels. Get it on sale
This game is a hidden gem. It's everything a 4x ought to be except easy to comprehend at first, and I feel like that is by design. The game tries to trick you by putting everything behind an obscure mystical veneer that makes it a daunting game at first glance. Sadly, this will push people who can't push past this out of enjoying the game. The game is an incredibly interesting take on the empire building game. It has some problems with pacing, I do think that the game can go a little faster. Otherwise, if you buy it, play on the easiest difficulty and then move your way up, and read every single tool tip as much as you can until you figure out what does what and how. Then figure out how you want to win, and execute. When you win, you'll be able to move onto the next difficulty. Whatever you do, remain committed, I put this game down at first shot, and came back to it, and was pleasantly surprised.
A fun little strategy game that operates similarly to the smaller mobile/flash games that you occasionally see about building up a resource in one territory and then using that to overwhelm new territories which then proceed to generate new ships, etc. There appears to be a certain level of complexity under the hood, but it's fairly esoteric and doesn't generally seem to require much actual thought beyond setting up your civilization automatic build pattern. That said, the company appears to have folded or paused as development is over for the game. Still, a fun little distract from time to time.
Looks simple, but has some depth to it. Starting position influences expansion strategy. The various achievements are good opportunities to try different military and economic strategies. I often get bored with games in a few hour, so hitting 25 hours for me means it's very engaging.
i have no clue how to play this game, but it was fun anyways and someone managed to win in the end.
