Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile

If you played Murder on the Orient Express then this game follows the same recepie but with more beautiful views, more places to explore and an ancient Egyptian mystery on the side. I love both games therefore I recommend them wholeheartedly. Edit: After I posted my review I skimmed other's reviews and read a lot of negative reviews. I can't sympathise. This is a mystery game but is primarly a puzzle game. The puzzles are also not that hard but I am also speaking from the perspective of someone who plays mostly puzzle and deduction games. The mysteries DO NOT have multiple possible endings nor plot holes. I feel like some simply skimmed the dialougues in search for a skip button or did not understand how the reenacments work. However! I must warn that at times the soundrack does glitch, but it's only for a second or 2. I think this mught have to do with each's computer performance, I'm not sure. The other warning is for the ones suffering from motion sickness, I've also experienced it since I'm also sensible to that aspect. There are some parts of the game that might prove to be difficult to navigate for some players due to some scenes having maze like environments. P.S: ususal…

this game is a) a proper and well-executed addition to the studio's previous Poirot games, b) a faithful yet innovative instalment in the chain of "Death on the Nile" adaptations and (c) a BEAUTIFUL game. Kudos. What annoyed me properly, though, was the 7th chapter, which is rife with puzzles for which I admittedly am not patient enough. I just want to get along and solve the mysteries! (This annoyed me in previous games, too, but not seldom to a lesser extent.) This is all the more bitter because the deduction scheme is often all too simple OR (and I realise this sounds contradictory) not as logical as it purports to be. And don't get me started on the collectibles. Hunting golden moustaches is just ridiculous. The game seems to be aware of that - but then again, if you have to collect a 100 of them, they massively downplay that awareness in function of... what exactly? All in all, though: recommended. I had fun. There's some replay value, for sure. (If not, I will adjust this review). Hope you enjoy this game, too!

Excellent game so far!

one of the best murder mystery games for sure! really well made and super polished. Me and my sister play murder mystery games religiously, and unlike typical series like Sherlock Holmes or newer titles like This Bed We Made, this game is well made from start to finish. In particular, we were surprised how polished the minigames and epilogue elements were. Well done Microids! Can't wait for the next one!! (Fingers crossed its "And Then There Were None") p.s: The soundtrack is such a vibe - I loved it!! p.s: We didn't really like the chapter with a puzzle in each room - they were cool but we definitely got sick of doing them one after another.

Nice graphics, relaxing music. Good protagonists. That's about it. It's sometimes interesting from the story side but to be honest it's only a mini-game puzzle simulator. It gets overly ridiculous when you reach chapter 7 and each passenger has some kind of weird secret locked away by a stupid mini-puzzle. For example there's a wooden puzzle box that has not one, not two, but five separate puzzles. Come on. They are not particularly hard but takes all the focus away from the story. Count the puzzles by the number of passengers and you can only guess what the devs were smoking. This has nothing to do with a standard point & click detective games or anything relatively similar. The deductions are sometimes off, you need to make assumptions the player couldn't know for sure. Poirot does maneuvers he would never do, like carrying a backpack or steering a ship. Excuse me but now I am going to go and hide this review on paper under the sink in a numeric locked box and scatter hints to the code in torn map pieces I am going to hide around the city. Good luck with that.

It's largely a fun game, but the annoying minigames just ruin it. You can't progress the story until you complete them, and some of them don't even have a set solution; the ones in the gambling den, for instance. I can't understand why any designer thought this would be a good idea? To lock progress behind mini games that have nothing to do with the actual story at hand? Really disappointing, honestly. If they hadn't added them this would actually be a good game.
