How utterly disappointing! This is a perfect example of a great game ruined by awful technicalities! The game has a lot of stuttering and juddering that makes the game very difficult to impossible to play and enjoy! I have tried so many methods to try and fix it and none of them work. It is a game that refuses to be fixed! I read online that it is locked at 50hz refresh rate! Newsflash! I DON'T HAVE A 50hz MONITOR!!! It practically transforms what should have been a masterpiece of a remake of a retro classic into a broken, choppy, unplayable mess full of absurd lag and slowdown! Not even the most graphically advanced games of this day and age like Doom the Dark Ages for example gave me this much trouble! How on earth is it possible that a 2D remake of a retro game from the 80s can run this horribly?! You know they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when somehow it is much better to just play the original Master System game over this! It's awful! I am horribly disappointed by this! It's a serious shame! Because this game had a lot going for! Beautifully animated sprites, a lovely remix of the original soundtrack, a more detailed story that explains what is going on, and the gameplay pretty much being …

Why did they remake this game? This is absolutely terrible...this isn't even worth downloading for free. Such a worthless franchise.

I never played the original game back in the day, but this game feels as tough as old school platformers, even has full bs level hazards Mega Man style. Absolutely frustrating that infinite lives disables some achievements (maybe all?) but the game at least offers infinite continues. Honestly wouldn't recommend this except to maybe hardcore retro enthusiasts, because while the game has that old school unforgiving gameplay, it's also just not that great of a game and unfortunately has a lot of the same classic gameplay mechanics that were limitations of their day, aren't really appreciated.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is not so much a game as it is a beautifully restored emotional injury. On the surface, it is a bright, charming remake of a classic Master System platformer. The visuals are lovely, the music has been nicely brought back to life, and with one button you can flick between the shiny new version and the original, which is a neat little feature if you want to remind yourself what happiness looked like through a 1980s television and mild childhood resentment. But underneath the fresh paint, this is still Alex Kidd. Which means you will jump. You will slide slightly too far. You will punch the air beside an enemy with great confidence. You will die because something brushed your ankle with the authority of a small angry god. And then you will sit there, controller in hand, quietly remembering why you hated the outside world for several years. I loved it. This game took me straight back to being a teenager in my self-loathing era, when the world was stupid, people were annoying, and apparently the best use of my time was guiding a large-eared child through a hostile kingdom where every fish, bird, rock, frog and old man playing rock-paper-…

A terrible game - You die in one hit, the difficulty is excessive, and there's no checkpoint. - There's no restart feature. - A killer pops up from a box and kills you. - The player's movement is unbalanced while jumping on platforms, and there's no controller option to adjust it. - The boss you play rock-paper-scissors against always wins, and you have to play again and again until you finally get lucky and beat him. Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, released on the Sega Genesis, is much better. You can kick while jumping, unlike this version where that's not allowed. Although I'm a Sega fan, this game disappointed me, and after much effort and many deaths, I finally finished it. I don't recommend buying the game until you've tried it; it will frustrate you, and you won't enjoy it.
