Alone With You, developed and published by BancyCo, is a quietly powerful narrative adventure that trades mechanical complexity for emotional depth and atmosphere. Set on a remote space colony on the brink of destruction, the game places you in the role of its last surviving human inhabitant, tasked with escaping before the planet collapses entirely. It’s a premise that could easily lean into urgency and spectacle, but instead the game chooses a far more introspective direction, focusing on solitude, memory, and the fragile connections that persist even in isolation. The structure unfolds through a repeating daily cycle that becomes central to the experience. Each day, you explore different sections of the abandoned colony, piecing together fragments of what happened while solving light environmental puzzles tied to your escape plan. Talked to an AI in orbit now it’s my confidant and my cat is officially jealous.

This game was such an experience, and it really blew away my expectations. I first played this for Valentine's Day because I mistakenly thought it would be a very quick dating simulator where I could get a few laughs, have some digital romance and share the experience with my livestream viewers. It WAS listed on steam as “A Sci-Fi Romance Adventure.” I went in blind, and I'm so glad I did. What I got was so much more and instantly made this game skyrocket to my top 5 games of all time. This storyline was so deep, and honestly the focus on the romance options was lackluster in comparison — the real romance felt like falling in love with this planet that was doomed. It was a fantastic experience! After finishing my first run, I'm now going back in and trying for 100% completion. If you hope for an experience that can move you and empowers you, look eleswhere. Better try [u]The Altars[/u] also here on Steam: it's in first person with side-scrolling scene during the moments we bond with the relatively virutal crew. This, however... Personaly I didn't find this experience relatable or interesting, and I don't understand the hype and the qualification for the awards - it only qualified, didn't win, tho. The experience was very lackluster, shallow and boring. The settings are a classic of science fiction: abandonned facilities on another planet, we have to make do with the feltovers resources and AI of hte dead crew. I though it would be something like the game [u]The Turing Test[/u], (also here on Steam), where the AI is an important character and actually tht main protagonist, But no, this is mostly all about being forced to please the virutal copies of four very mainstraim, predictable, and relatively, either morally immature or shallow human beings, from varied ethnies - and each wasn't designed to have look pleasing for most people. But the fact that they are virutal copies isn't exploited at all, the AI isn't an interesting character and actually …

Played this to death on console and bought it here to have another way to play it eventually. A great and chill game, but in a melancholic and haunting way with great writing and characters that are not hyperbolized or made into caricatures. At times bleak but also incredibly poignant and affirming narratively - about finding love, empathy, and connection in ways you might not expect but are no less valid than the common bonds we have as humans. The sega-cd era aesthetic and amazing lo-fi synth soundtrack and ambience certainly help as well. Not an experience for everyone but will hit people who like this sort of thing where they want.
