About Apple Jack 1&2

When a little man with an apple for a head loses his dog, it marks the beginning of a grand platforming adventure deep into the heart of...Wales?

- Two full, critically acclaimed games
- Ride enemies, pick them up and HURL them at each other (yes, like in Mario 2)
- Dodge spikes, saw blades, falling things, lots MORE spikes, and huge boss enemies.
- 160 fiendish/head-scratching levels across 8 environments.
- 20+ hours of hard core gameplay!
- Beautiful acoustic soundtrack

I played hours and hours of this on the Xbox 360. It's by far the best game that nobody has ever heard of or played.

This is a lovely game - its's fun, addictive and has a great sound track. Had it on the xbox 360 years ago and great to see both Apple Jack 1 & 2 available on steam. £5 well spent. Do it :)

Apple Jack and Apple Jack 2 are devilishly difficult platformers with satisfying gameplay that builds on Super Mario Bros. 2's jump on enemies and pick them up mechanic. These games have incredibly chill folk-style soundtracks and a multiplier mechanic that feels incredibly satisfying to build. Make sure you're ready for how hard they are though.

I played Apple Jack when it first released on Xbox 360. I never completed it and the game is sadly unavailable on current gen Xbox consoles. I was happy to see the game and the sequel on Steam and I've now completed both of them. Some later levels are pretty challenging but also don't feel unfair.

disclosure--i've completed both apple jack 1 & 2 multiple times as part of their original xbox live indie games releases i have been gaming for over 4 decades. this is one of my TOP 10 GAMES OF ALL TIME (yes i've played smb3, super metroid, zelda oot, halo, half life, et al). apple jack seems one of those games you might happen upon circumstantially... but it was actually kismet. playing this game is like a fever dream... the music, the art, the gameplay, the screen-filling combo-reward explosions... it all comes together to create some surreal experience that really resonates and sticks with you. TRAGICALLY, RIDICULOUSLY underappreciated. i would punch a baby for a third entry. could go on and on but can't be doing with long winded reviews... just flurking play it already. especially if you love super mario bros. 2 (nes), super meat boy, or just retro 2d platformers in general. if i were rich i'd hire this one-man dev genius to make a second sequel... and i'd probably challenge him to make it 3d a la super mario's 2d evolution into super mario 64 *going to work to make it happen* AMAY-ZUH-ZING
