Arcane Merchant

Look, this isn't a terrible game. But it's hard to say "yes, I recommend this game" when there are so many better options out there. The simulator genre is a mixed bag, with lot of crap games, but there are also a lot of really great ones. If you've exhausted all the better options and are looking for another shopkeeper sim fix, then sure, give this one a go. Otherwise, I'd say put this on the backburner. [h3]WHAT I ENJOYED[/h3] ♦ Visually, it's a beautiful game. The world is bright and colorful and feels lively because you're in the middle of a market with other vendors and there's a lot of people wandering around. ♦ The items and NPCs have nice designs. ♦ There's a research tree, and it seems to be paced fine. ♦ There's an adventurer system that's kind of fun, where you can send a "hero" out on missions to bring back loot. ♦ You can pet a cute cat everyday. [h3]WHAT I DISLIKED[/h3] ♦ You go up and down a staircase to the bedroom to end your day. At the bottom of the staircase is a bunch of rocks that you can't walk or jump over, and you have to go through a narrow little gap to get through. It's a shop simulator game. Controls are a little rough and the check out mechanic is lazy in contrast to its peers. Returned when the presence of undisclosed AI assets became too obvious to overlook.

I came in expecting “not another shop game”… …and somehow I’ve lost several hours of my life to it. 😂 At first I thought, “Oh great, another game where I sell stuff in a shop. How exciting.” Then Arcane Merchant casually grabbed me by the collar and said, “You’re going to enjoy this.” And damn it… it was right. What started as “I’ll just play for 20 minutes” turned into “Why is it 2am and why am I emotionally invested in my inventory?” There’s something dangerously satisfying about buying, selling, upgrading, making money and slowly turning your humble little shop into something I’m actually proud of. Hook. Line. And sinker. Would recommend if you enjoy shop management, progression, and accidentally sacrificing your entire evening to “just one more thing.” 10/10 — came for the shop, stayed because apparently I now own a small business.

Games like this make me wish there was more than recommend or not recommend. recommending because for the price you get 20 hours of game time...even though probably the last 5 or 6 hours was simply sitting and waiting for the correct amount of items to sell so I can simply unlock the next item in the research tree..the last two items I had to wait for took a long time, once I knocked those out, I was done with the game. like others have said, once you beat 100 random people with books, you can simply switch to cozy while the game plays in the background (yes you dont need to wait for the daily stinky and thief, but you can just beat everyone as they leave). so all said and done, you get some hours to kill...but it is a very shallow game...

I've been looking for something like this. I am excited for more content to come out, and excited to see more happen! I bought this in a bundle with another game and I plan on trying the other one out now that I have maxed everything out with a cushy bank roll for when the next update happens. Very fun and worth the great price!

Is a rather nice take on running a shop and having more magic like focus. Dose take a bit to get to the end and is an interesting take to have epic related gear and higher have to get from doing quests Not sure if I like that but is a change from just being able to buy it compared to other games. Did find it quite funny able to smack someone with a book and they ragdoll in such odd ways. My big complaint of the game is how spendy it is to keep heroes end game. Its like about 1,000 last I played it and you can have 3 so that is 3,000 coins. The work around is you could get ones that are not quite as powerful and so its less spendy but may not be able to do end game quests for mythic and legendary loot as much.
