Works on Reverb G2 after resetting position in SteamVR. Arcaxer is a unique VR turn-based action JRPG. It is fun to play, even if difficulty curve is a bit weird. Physically dodging enemy attacks and casting spells by punching air is satisfying and keeps turn-based combat fresh. Melee/gun combat is boring, but its optional. Enemy attack patterns are different for every stage and in later levels they can overlap in unique combinations. Difficulty curve is quite weird: most of the game is very easy on Normal difficulty, but the Graveyard bosses are extremely challenging. Visuals are bland but tolerable. They were clearly designed for Quest without any upgrades for PC version - there are no graphics options.

!. game has very poor OPT Game will crash you if you die 2. first person movement is point to move instead of using thumbstick because its all reversed and wonky 3. the fact meele hurts you ruins the game 100% 4. the game hasnt been updated in 1 year 5.wait for sale like when i got it on the day of this review 6 the game has potential but they need to make it run on steam VR because god forbid i press the oculus button and never leave that menu because the rift softwear crashes your PC when running a game also you require to move arround so you need a big room to play this game meaning users with small Link cables like me cant fully experince this game as dodgeing requires fast head movement and training requires fast hand movement i say this games final score is here below in my honest opponion Gameplay; 3/10 -crashes alot and movement is bad story: 8/10 you can be in SAO (Sword Art Online) graphics: 6/10 love the retro bit art style but it seems off for some stuff but its fine my progress floor 6 i died to a purple beam and crashed because the beam does 22 damage per millisecond message to devs fix the lagging issue and make healing ability less then 2 turns its so trash also…

I recommend this game, but with mixed feelings. Pros: 1. The game setting is very creative and interesting 2. Combat is satisfying enough with different abilities and classes to choose from 3. Story is passable but kind of mediocre 4. There is decent replay-ability (if you enjoy the combat) 5. Game was mostly stable and ran decently Cons: 1. Navigating the overworld, particularly to find all the chests/collectibles, is extremely frustrating due to janky movement, bad level design, and inconsistent terrain. Technically all this content is optional, but you'd lose out on tons of materials, weapons, xp, etc. Would have finished this game hours earlier if this part was better designed, this aspect of the game was truly poorly made 2. This game requires a LOT of physical space to play. You can't play this sitting down, so unless you have a large open space or even a backyard to play in, it will be too difficult or even unplayable, since enemy attacks would be impossible to dodge 3. Requires a lot of movement to dodge enemy attacks, so it is not a chill vr rpg experience, if that is what you are looking for 4. Enemies are a bit repetitive 5. The story is linear, the dialogue choices …

Arcaxer is an ambitious attempt to reimagine the turn-based RPG within the space of virtual reality, developed by Overrun Games and published by Well Played Studios. Rather than simply transplanting a traditional role-playing formula into a headset, the game rebuilds the genre around the physicality and immediacy of VR. Set inside a digital realm known as the Sim, you ascend a massive, ever-changing tower called the Stack, battling corrupted creatures, gathering loot, and shaping your character along branching upgrade paths. From the outset, Arcaxer frames itself as something experimental—an RPG that respects genre traditions while daring to use VR in ways few turn-based games do. The core innovation lies in the combat system, which blends the planning and pacing of turn-based battles with the active engagement of physical VR movement. When it’s your turn, you don’t simply click an attack option; you physically swing your weapon, aim a projectile, or cast abilities by positioning your body within the play space. Enemies don’t simply sit still waiting for your command—they move, dodge, and reposition, forcing you to track them with your own hands. When the enemy turn comes, you rem…
