✦ AI summary

Ancient Dungeons is widely praised for its addictive dungeon-crawling gameplay, deep build customization through weapon augments and accessories, and mod support that extends replayability in VR. However, some players find the climbing mechanics awkward, dungeon exploration overly RNG-dependent rather than thoughtfully designed, and progression slow, though cooperative play is noted as potentially improving the experience.

One of the few VR games I can easily recommend to everyone. It runs great, it's an actual game that is fun to play beyond just the novelty of "oh it's fun because it's VR", and doing co-op runs with friends makes it even better. Combat is not just another "hit ragdolls that can't fight back" game like many others out there. Lots of enemy variety, and lots of interesting AI and behaviors to learn to effectively fight everything in every biome. It's actually a lot like Binding of Isaac if it were in VR, at least in terms of how the runs work mechanically. You pick up a ton of interesting perks during runs that can change things up a lot, you find money that can be spent or gambled away in shops to help your odds, you can branch off into different level paths, and runs award points and currencies you can spend on upgrading weapon sets and working through a talent tree for permanent improvements that affect all future runs. There are a ton of other things I couldn't possibly explain without making the review too long. Although it looks pretty simple, the game operates in a way that is pretty polished. It also doesn't nickel and dime you to death with paid DLC like some other VR dunge…

Hands down the best VR Fighter/ dungeon crawler you'll ever find, and in the beautiful voxel style! Hitboxes are fair, collisions make sense, plenty of items to find, worth while difficulty, proper workout every time. I would suggest making the floors twice as big, gives more time for buffs, items, and practice, leaves room for more design, and keeps players from just running around only to realize they now have horde awaiting. All in all, get the game, buy it and support it, it's well worth the money

This is the best vr game I have ever played, all of the collectibles and and unlockable things make the game fun and exciting, introducing something new every time you play it through. The combat is very awesome, as you can even "return to sender" most projectiles, and ballsy players can go straight hands if they want. There are various achievements to hunt, and as I'm not really a badge hunter myself, I would gladly 100% this game to get the most out of it. The classes are by far the best feature, featuring 4 currently all with their own gimmick. About the update where the sewer and crystal cave automatically became unlocked for new players, personally I think that one was an iffy choice because it made it something you didn't have to unlock through progression, and ancient dungeon's progression is what makes it so good. But in all, This is a banger game and I've bought this at least 3 times over different platforms for myself, and gifted to my friends too. Each run is mostly different from the last, with different rooms and layouts to explore for each floor. I just love this frickin game.

Genuinely the best vr GAME ever I would say. It is so fun as a video game instead of as some kind of world, there is a clear goal, and the gameplay is fun, it uses aspects that come natural seeing as its a vr game like throwing things or swinging a sword or even swinging a flail, i love how you can swing it in the way you'd swing a long rope to get it to keep swinging outward. It's just such a great blend of realism and game mechanics that makes it so good, on top of the fact I love roguelikes.

Outstanding roguelike with excellent replay value. Easily worth it for the price!
