they messed up the floor height, this game guarantees motion sickness. Im not sure how a dev can mess something that important up by that much, my boundary and floor and VR-height in game is perfectly adjusted but still, the floor is always moving up and down, especially if you are physically crouching or jumping (orjust walking where your head goes above your normal height naturally. Im not sure how one is supposed the play the game, I have a large 20*20m area in my backyard but its impossible to use that for the game, it actually encurages you to just play seated, because you have to use the thumbsticks to move around, the human body is just too slow for those fights. Also the grabbing system needs more refinement, too many times that one just grabbed the weapon instead of an item or so. The general idea of the game is nice though, but Im feeling too sick to have many good words. Also one core component of the game is to decaptivate the enemy.... i mean thats rough but also sooo hard to do. If thats a core mechanic, why do enemies disappear after 1second, i mean if its supposed to be realistic the enemies should stay on the ground for a little longer so I have time to do tha…2 found this helpful
My thoughts: (3.2 hours playtime review) Yep, it slaps. Combat is very responsive, UI is basically perfect, the level design is well done, although the color palette for the world never really changes, so not much biome variety unfortunately. The story is generic, but it's not bad by any means, just uninteresting. The enemy AI is what I really like the most here. They fight with a genuine intent to kill you, it's not gamified, it's very immersive combat and you have to think fast and fight faster. Arken Age has the closest sword combat I've found to my dream of playing a Sword Art Online game in VR. They really did an outstanding job with the combat. First Impression: (42 minutes playtime review) I'm barely past the tutorial and I can tell that this slaps. The combat feels so good, the controls and body slots all make sense and work well. This was clearly made by gamers, and I'm loving it. Don't change a thing.2 found this helpful
Good Game but buy it on sale.
A decently ambitious VR game that is close to what I want in VR games. Its a decently fun campaign. The art direction is good. The guns are okay; I wish there were multiple different guns not just different attachments and barrels. The reloading isnt that satisfying and shooting is okay. The melee combat was kind of fun, and I liked using my gun and melee at the same time. Story is just there but it is not important. The bosses are very generic and are easy to complete if you have heals. You will have a lot of currency as long as you just grab everything and sell junk. $40 is too much for an 8 hr game tho.
