Arms Trade Tycoon: Tanks

"Recent" updates have just been to enable modding. No new features in forever. Devs even changed the roadmap halfway through. Devs radio silent. Don't waste your money.

Avoid this game. In its current state, its only a tech demo and I returned to see if anything new was added and all they did was provide modding support. Initially, they had promised upgrading into modern era from ww1, you can see it IN THEIR DAMN LOGO for the game. Now? They very sneakily removed it and tried to celebrate it as a wonderful updated roadmap by removing the cold war and modern eras from the game. - You still can't start in different countries - Testing phase was butchered - Reduced to essentially a menu clicking simulator - No meaningful updates in well over a year Can't recommend this abandoned demo. Please be wary of early access games.

It was a fun and interesting project for some time, then updates became few and far between and the content released has been more of a joke lately than anything serious. By all looks and metrics the game seems to be abandoned and is not even close to the game they advertised. DO NOT BUY!

So as it currently stands I cannot in good conscious give this game a positive rating. It's been in EA for many years now, I've sunk 66 hours into this game but haven't gotten back into. I do think that their "Most Recent" update to add mod support was for Modders to kinda take over the game development, (At least that's what it felt like) and there is no activity from the dev team on their discord. For some reason their Community Manager isn't really doing his job to release information regarding the development. Not even saying "Hey sorry, we've been experiencing a lot of trouble right now. Please bear with us" so little to no communication at all. So unless something changes, please do not buy in the current stage of things as it has gone stagnant. If anything changed I will update the review as it goes

really dissapointing the lack of content this might just end up as another UAD but without any of the cool parts like seeing and actively fighting in the battles

I'm going to put my foot down by typing words onto a screen and sending it into the void (I'm sure it will do great things) This game is a fine game for what it aims to be - a tank design game that you then sell to various countries. I see some people complain about it's original graphics; I think it's current graphics are fine. Not great but not the worst. You can tweak just about everything about your tanks - armor thickness, engines, guns etc. You can even design the engines and guns you put in the tanks - mixing and matching pieces to get the best result. People complain about updates and yes, I would like to hear from the developers a bit more than they do if only to confirm they are still working on it. I'm also not too enthused about the idea of modern tanks so if they stopped at WW2 and said "we're done," I'd be ok with it. TLDR: it's what it says on the tin - design tanks, then sell them. From World war 1 to World war 2, nations are british, french, german, and (later in the ingame timeline) russia.
