Planet Coaster

Potentially the hardest i've ever laughed in a video game. The amount of debauchery and shenanigans you can pull off in this game is incredible and hilarious. It's like RollerCoaster Tycoon on steroids sprinkled with Garry's Mod level customization with 3D modelling precision. Honestly, it really helps if you have experience with 3D modelling, even if beginner-level, because the Move/Rotate/Scale tools will feel identical to some 3D modelling softwares. What I love about this game is I really do feel like I am rewarded for my creativity and my experimentation with abusing the game's mechanics, it's really really fun. Whether you play the campaign story mode or sandbox, there's plenty to do in this game; I myself am more of a sandbox player. I will say, this game requires a considerable amount of patience, especially when you first start playing. It definitely takes a really long time to get anything done in this game, so if you don't have much patience or your attention span ain't that great, this game might come across as a chore. I love the customizability of this game. It's just a shame that you can go into so much detail that it will take months to complete a ride, so I kind of lost my steam with it. That's not to say it's a bad thing, it's just the level of detail you can go into is ridiculous. The only thing I'm a bit sad about is now they have made a second one and this game is no longer getting updates. So if you spent a long time on a project, as far as I know it's stuck in pc1, which is a shame. I don't want to spend months creating the same ride. So yeah. Anyway I do recommend this game for creative people. I can't say anything about the career mode as I didn't play much of that.

Frontier made a good game, somewhat limited by the fact you can't scale scenery pieces, the pathing tool is very rectangular and coaster smoothing is not very functional, but I enjoyed it and put over 500 hours into the game, it has a lot of base game content and I wouldn't mind if it had a couple of DLC's, on that note 11 DLC's???? This is stupid, and frontier have lost all my respect, even more now they've added a subscription to access the DLC's just so they can extort players for even more money. Great game ruined by greedy developers. 7.5/10 but dragged down to 4/10 for all the DLC, worse now than on release because of greed, and now their butchering the second game in the same way.

Extremely limiting in your ability to design custom rollercoasters. The designer is overly restrictive, often leading to rollercoasters that are broken for no reason other than the devs won't let you have a reasonable option, such as having a rollercoaster only do one lap, or making a linear induction motor slow the carriage down when set to not slow the carriage down. Very disappointing and has put me off buying the second iteration of this game.
