About Artificial Mansion
There's something seriously wrong with the mansion that Reuben inherits from his late uncle. It used to be abandoned due to its owners constantly disappearing. It remained unowned for close to 100 years until Reuben's uncle, who dismissed the disappearances as silly rumours, decided to purchase the mansion and renovate it. He died many years later from natural causes, so it appeared that the disappearances were indeed just a rumour. As the new owner, Reuben decides to explore the mansion that he hasn't seen in years. He soon discovers a secret room that he never noticed when he was younger, and neither did his uncle. In it contains three life-like dolls who he accidentally awakens. Reuben finds himself stuck in a life or death game with two of the dolls trying to protect him and one of them trying to kill him.
Reuben
He used to be close to his uncle and would spend a lot of time at the mansion, but never noticed anything peculiar at the time. Reuben initially finds all of the dolls terrifying, including the ones that are only trying to protect him.
Briar
She is one of the two dolls trying to protect him. Briar is the ruder of the two, not hesitating to lash out if someone does something stupid. Since she has constantly failed at protecting people, she's become a little pessimistic.
Lottie
She's the more polite and friendly of the two dolls protecting Reuben. She quickly grows fond of him and believes that he will be the first person who manages to survive. Lottie is very curious about the changes to the mansion, having been asleep for the past 100 years.
Adelaide
A true killer doll. Adelaide was created solely for eliminating anyone in her sight when she wakes up. Unlike the other two dolls, her range of emotions is much more limited and she has to rest much longer than they do. In exchange, she can be much stronger than them.

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to enjoy a visual novel, and I've wanted to get back to the genre. So why not jump back in with this one? It's about...dolls that come to life and battle. Well, that's certainly a choice of all time... Artificial Mansion is the wild story of Reuben, who recently inherited his rich uncle's mansion. After discovering two life-sized dolls named Lottie and Briar, he suddenly finds himself in a battle for his life. For five nights (heh heh), he and his new doll friends must survive against Adelaide, another doll who's evil and much more powerful. Thankfully, during the daytime, Reuben gets a chance to put his dating sim skills to test with Lottie or Briar, which will determine the good ending he gets upon surviving. It's up to the player to make the right choices for him to survive though! Any good visual novel will need solid art, and Artificial Mansion delivers in this regard. The character designs are quite nice, striking a nice balance between details and overall appeal. I feel like Adelaide's design is missing something that Lottie and Briar have, but they're all great. I've been rather prejudiced against Visual Novels, leading to a particular bias against anime-style, both in art and in dialogue/character tropes/development/etc. Well, RhinoGearz, this one hobbyist making budget-friendly VN's over here in the Americas, made my reconsider my biases in a sweeping way with the awfully corny yet charming Dimension of Monster Girls, leading me to check out more of his stuff. Any seasoned VN fans, especially weaboos, who insist on Japanese-made, or hyper-japanophile-made, 'high-budget' stuff best turn away now. They won't like the praise I have to give for this little project. This, the moreso as it's hard not to compliment this game without mentioning what it does right that other VN's actually from Japan (and from the dens of really hardcore of japanophiles with money to swing) I've tried so often seem to get wrong - which, to be fair, RhinoGearz himself has in past titles as well. In accepting Artificial Mansion as the small project it is, and that RhinoGearz's head man is indeed one guy taking his vision and inspiration in his own hands, I find Artificial Mansion to be my favorite of his pieces yet in the way of choices, pacing, and character bui…2 found this helpful

it short. i finished in less than 4 hours. story a bit simple. art is nice.
Decent VN, really reminds me of Rozen Maiden. The two disappointments were no [strike]BaraSuigintou[/strike] Adelaide or [spoiler]harem [/spoiler]routes.
