ASTROSMASH

This is a tough one. I flip flopped from positive to negative and back and forth and could just not decide. I did settle on a not recommended, and let me explain to you why. As you can see with my playtime, I have given the game a serious go and this negative review comes after a lot of thought, it wasn't just willy nilly. I was an Intellivision kid, and I have fond memories of this game - I once used it to get out of going to bed at my normal time. I said to mum, just one quick game, and was there for 80 minutes and begged her not to make me stop as it was going to be my high score (I knew precisely what I was doing lol). For those familiar with the original game, surviving for 80 minutes is no easy task, but I was really good at it. The reason I remember it so fondly is because my parents stayed up and watched the whole game with me and even got right into it and were making verbal cues throughout. I also remember how sore my hand was, cause you had to use the stiff side buttons to shoot. I went to bed with a blister. Let's get the positives out of the way: The music is outstanding. I LOVE good music during a shmup, and I almost gave it a thumbs up just for that. A truly epic …

Love this game! The graphics are good and smooth, even on a system that's not a gaming machine. The music is excellent! I'd buy the soundtrack if I could find it. Game play is fun and can get rather hectic but in a good way. This game is a love song to the 1980s, just enough nostalgia mixed with respect to the original but riffing off of the theme in a fresh way.

If you are a fan of the original, this is a blast to play. Nice graphics and music. Nothing complex about this game. Sit back and enjoy it.

Pretty cool remake of Astrosmash! I really like that you can access the 1981 version from inside the game as well and "Shark! Shark!" also includes the original game! The best thing about the game is the in-game leaderboard. If they improve anything, I hope they improve on that and make the leaderboard more extensive with more than just the top 100 players. The game is not expensive if you buy it as part of the "INTV Bundle". Overall really happy with my purchase.

Really fun game! Very well made, the levels are exciting and challenging at the same time. The point system is perfect, the soundtrack is just out of this world! Multiplayer is really amazing, most people will enjoy, even those who don't usually play games or are more on mobile. That's a top game right there and each level is very special. I love the bosses and the originality, the gameplay is excellent! *Edit: Now top 10 in the leaderboard with 279 000 points! Muahaha, I just beat Tron who was 10th, now 11th. This game should be 30$, not 15$! And it's addicting! Really cool, I highly recommend. I was playing Hearthstone, now playing this game more and streaming.

My family had an Intellivsion when I was a kid. I think Astrosmash came with the console, and it was the one that I played most. I was a bit disappointed when I heard that the new Intellivision remakes would be exclusive to the Amico. I really didn't want to buy a console. Therefore, I was very happy to find out that they changed their mind and brought the game to a variety of platforms. Is this game worth $15? Perhaps not, but I got it when it was on sale for a bit under $10. (Also, see the UPDATE below.) The sound and visuals were nice, and I had fun playing it. It did remind me of the original, even though it has it's own unique twists (for example, the power ups). Some of the reviews I've read said that they finished the game in ~45 minutes. I'm sorry that I'm not an epic gamer like those folks. My first game lasted for 0.4 hours, and I only got up to Level 6 before I died. However, I'll confess that I didn't use Hyperspace (not even once) on my first game. I wish the original version of the game was included.
