✦ AI summary

Players praise Aveliana's striking art direction and atmospheric level design, with several noting the enjoyable shift between 3D adventure and 2D platforming sections, though some find the stealth-focused gameplay satisfying while others wish the combat felt less clunky. However, numerous technical issues significantly detract from the experience, including broken save functionality, missing control options, incorrect in-game settings, and state inconsistencies where doors and other level elements become stuck, alongside complaints that platforming sections lack variety and the top-down comba

bugged indie cheap piece of junk - options doesn't contains all controls - in-game options looks simply incorrect - saves doesn't restore you to saved location if you exited to menu and press continue - even if you reload last save in-game something on level like doors can be in incorrect state - combat in top-down perspective is awful and inconvenient - platforming sections is simply awful because you can't do anything except of jumps

Adventure with stealth elements and some design choices that don’t always translate into a fun experience. First thing you need to do is pick story or normal difficulty. Both offer exactly the same experience, the only difference is that story is a lot easier with weaker enemies and auto-health regeneration for the main character. I still suggest you go with the normal because that will show you what the game is all about. However, if something becomes too difficult or you change your mind while playing, you may easily switch at any time. This game does not require you to learn difficult controls. It's all extremely simple to play. Aside from basic movement, you only have two other abilities: special skills and attack. Although the game is mainly centered on stealth, you can still take down enemies in an efficient manner. When the enemy actively engages you, you deal less damage, but you can still kill them with a few hits. When you're hidden from the enemy, the corners of the screen darken. However, if you are caught, you must defeat everyone in order to remove the magical barrier that prevents you from progressing. Unfortunately, there are some critical issues with hit dete…

I love the art direction of Aveliana, it's what drew me to the game in the first place and it really shines with some great level design. I enjoy the shifts from the 3D adventure game play to the 2D side scrolling sections. The combat can feel a little clunky when trying to take on multiple enemies, but this isn't really the focus of the game as it wants you to sneak and stealth your way through a level. Only a couple of hours in and looking forward to seeing where the game takes us. If you like the art style and are looking for a slower paced adventure, this could be the game for you.

Great Game! Beautiful artwork, Incredible encompassing atmosphere, easy to learn- tricky to master mechanics, unique and original ideas in game play. Everything you could want from a solo developed indie game, well done!

I've barely scratched the surface but the game is great. I really like the perspective changes during gameplay and the enemies also have interesting mechanics (big fan of the balloon guy).

This game is an unpolished gem. I was an original backer and followed production. I was a little off-put when the creator revealed the new logo, because I genuinely thought it was AI. I don't think that anymore (because of years of exposure to what AI looks like), but it is genuinely a huge shift of style. I don't know what accounts for it - it genuinely could just be the 4 years that passed and the dev just got better at art. I forgot about the game for a long time after the development concluded and the download code sat there in my inbox for years. After that, the dev stopped updating. So it wasn't really in my mind. After getting a steam deck, I went through all my old campaigns and got my games. So I've been playing Aveliana. My first play-though I did not like it. The story seemed nonsensical and trite, with very cliche tropes like a chosen one and magic artifact and she's the only one who can use it now. There were minor typos. The voice acting is BAD - it's very obviously some kind of flat computer-generated with no intonation. Even modern AI voices mimic intonation to a degree, so idk where the dev got this. I feel like he could have gotten free, real VAs by offering a…
