ball is about as simple as a game can get, but I think that is also part of its appeal. The whole idea is to collect different balls by opening crates, with a new crate becoming available every three hours. There are 15 different balls to collect and five rarity levels, so most of the experience is basically waiting for the next crate and hoping I get something I have not already collected. It is a very small idea, but I can see why it works as something I leave open and check every now and then. The collecting itself is probably the best part for me. I like having a clear little collection to work towards, and the different rarities give each crate at least a small amount of excitement. There is not much skill involved in getting the actual balls because the contents are random, but that is not really what the game is trying to do. It is more of a casual idler where I slowly build up a collection rather than something I need to actively play all the time. The simple pixel art also fits the idea nicely and keeps everything looking colourful and easy to understand.
