About Barbarroja

Barbarroja recreates the entire period of war between Germany and Russia (1941 - 1945), for it uses units (chips) at the level of Corps of Armies and Armies, representing the historical units that intervened in this war. The game allows you to do it in a single computer (hot seat with two players), or a single player against the A.I. in turns, or you can play online or in the Local Network, in three modes, in turns or in real time.
In the turn-based mode, the player completes the movement and combat of all the units he wishes during his turn, then moves the A.I., in case of the hot chair, the other player will move.
In the real-time mode (this mode is only possible on the Internet and / or local network), each player moves and fights simultaneously for a certain time at the beginning of the game.
Each turn of Barbarroja, represents a month of battles. You can also play scenarios or create new scenarios.

UPDATE - 7/23/20 - Unfortunately, it seems this game has been completely abandoned by its developer. The game crashes every time I try to save, rendering it unplayable. Sadly the game itself is pretty good, but not worth buying. --- A solid operational hex-and-counter wargame, if a bit clunky and fiddly. It's a lite version of something like GG: War in the East or Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa, covering the entire Eastern Front from 1941-1945 with 1-month turns. Once you get a hang of the UI, the game is a straightforward chit-shuffler. Barbarroja is much quicker to play than GG or DC, and benefits from an option for custom unit placement, which adds a lot to replayability. Speaking of replayability, there's a decent number of scenarios covering smaller snippets of the war, plus a fairly flexible scenario editor. The AI is sneaky and competent, although the Soviets are unusually aggressive in the initial turns of the 41-45 campaign. Recommended for fans of hex-and-counter wargames and Eastern Front fanatics in general. Fair warning: I'm currently having issues with frequent CTDs caused by saving the game and even clicking "No" on the end-turn save prompt. I've opened…

Warning: Broken Game!
This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. Upon launching, the game displays an "Error 76" relating to a path not being found. There's no clear way to bypass this error, the game is fundamentally broken and cannot be played. This should be removed from Steam. Barbarroja was an old school turn based hex grid military strategy/simulator game where you could control units on the Eastern Front in Ww2. Now, it's an Error 76 simulator. The developer knows about the problem but has chosen not to fix it. But they also chose to leave this up for sale on Steam. The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the cash grab price of $10 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your …
