Beyond Hanwell

Beyond Hanwell is an indie horror FPS adventure game created entirely by one person. In this game your character explores a huge, extremely detailed map of London. The goal of the game is to find 5 keycards hidden deep inside certain buildings of the map, usually dropped by defeating unique monster bosses. Once obtaining the 5 keycards you may unlock the final area and finish the game. There are approximately 20 melee weapons to find, 2 guns, and several different kinds of bombs you can create at a workbench. The game is non linear, with no waypoints. You must search the map on your own, read notes, and use your own brain and instincts to solve the mystery of Hanwell. The game took just over 6 hours to complete and achieve all 100% of the achievements. + The atmosphere and immersion in this game is unparalleled. The game feels like a smaller version of Dead Island, but more dark, isolated, lonely, and personal. The graphics maxed out are outstanding, almost photorealistic at times. This is a pretty fun horror survival game. The graphics are beautiful and the map was larger than I expected. While the story is a little vague and short, it was a lot of fun exploring the different creepy locations. The combat is a bit clunky and repetitive, but the enemy designs are cool/creepy. My biggest complaint is that the outside world, while scenic, feels empty. I rarely ran into enemies, and there’s not much to loot. I wish there had been more to discover instead of the exploration being mainly in the indoor locations. Despite that, I really enjoyed my time with Beyond Hanwell!

Not worth buying. The game never developed beyond a basic skeleton and is lacking any kind of structure.

I really liked this game I can't lie about that but I'm pretty sure this game has been abandoned because I believe there used to be a post about an expansion that was just randomly deleted. The last update was also about 2 years ago so I wouldn't play this expecting more.

I can't speak for everyone but I personally felt a level of buyer's remorse with this game as the demo is very well done and focused as an experience which casts this game in a favorable light, it builds tension nicely with nice visuals, I felt genuine anticipation when I finished the demo but the full game just doesn't have the same level of attention to details and isn't really the same type of game. It is okay as it is but I don't know if its worth 25$ as it is and it does feel somewhat disingenuous how different an experience is portrayed in the demo
